I like the Dark Knight movies more than any other superhero movies. Superman is just terrible. You have a hero who can literally do anything he wants. Such a stupid concept.
I don't know if you read comics but go read Superman For All Seasons. It will change your mind on Superman.
It may also reaffirm your opinion that Superman movies are doomed to fail since I'm pretty sure it is unadapdable.
Terrio was brought in to re write Goyers script in 2013. Not sure how much of it has changed.. nor will we ever really know I guess. Unless the movie is good, then I would assume the answer is: all of it. lol
I know there was a big ruckus over this when it happened, basically the execs at WB weren't happy with where Snyder was proposing they take things based on Goyers script.

As far as I understand, yes he is credited. The original concept was a brainchild of Snyder and Goyer. As things progressed and Ben Affleck came on board, Ben had issues with the original script so he brought in Terrio to rewrite the whole thing. WB was so impressed with it, they rehired him to write JL part 1.
Since then I think Goyer has been cast aside and is now trying to develop a Krypton TV show.
I've stated a bunch of times already, Terrio and Affleck are the main reasons this stands a chance. If it's was the same team as Man of Steel, I think it would have been destined to be a bomb.

Yeah Affleck is a good writer on his own. Him having a hand is reassuring.
Affleck, like Reynolds, is also looking for a redemption in the superhero genre after the Daredevil fiasco. Based on his recent work, I'd say he understands what makes a good movie. Affleck is also a big comic guy.
I honestly can't see him being willing to participate in a Michael Bay style action movie, like the Superman movie was.
Affleck has also recruited Geoff Johns to help him write the standalone Batman movie. Johns is responsible for some of the best DC stuff in the past decade.

Yeah, and as I noted earlier on, Affleck was re-writing a lot while on set, presumably just re-working Batman's lines to fit better. IMO, that is a good thing.
Pretty impressive how Affleck went from Hollywood's s**list as an actor, much less anything else, to award winning director and well-respected all-around film tycoon in just a few short years.

As well, I think Geoff Johns is rising in the ranks of the DCU. I think he is part of a group of the top decision makers that are steering the DC ship.

It's also where Man of Steel screwed up.
Superman's weakness is usually that he isn't willing to do what is necessary to truly eliminate a threat and fully harness his power due to his moral code (well that and Kryptonite).
By completely eliminating the moral code that drives Superman when he broke Zod's neck it kind of showed he didn't have a weakness - will be interesting to see how they expand on that in BvS though.

In the comics, Superman was also forced to kill Zod. He also kills Doomsday (they kill eachother). So there is a precedent for Superman being forced to kill an enemy that is too powerful and relentless to be left alive.
The movie didn't do a very good job of portraying the struggle involved in that decision though. He seemed to just callously break his neck and didn't seem overly remorseful after. In the comics Superman is so beat up that he puts himself in exile.

I think we will see the fall out from this in BvS, not just from the crowd fearing his power but with Superman himself. I think it will be painful to watch since Cavill sucks at acting, but maybe that is one of the reasons he goes after Batman. Not only does he not agree with Batman's methods, but he feels that he needs to over compensate for his own tactics that included killing Zod.

Apologies as I haven't really kept up with this thread, but I'm not the only one fully expecting them to settle their differences and join together against a common enemy by the end right? I really can't envision it actually just being Batman vs Superman for 2.5hrs.
