Well then I guess one whiney team beat another because nobody whined more after getting beat by a better team than the Seahawks.
Not sure if Alexanders injury is the Madden curse or Karma coming back to bite Seattle in the ass for the way they acted after the Steelers beat them in the Super Bowl. Hopefully this means that Seattle will not make it back and we won;t have to hear their excuses for another year.

Moon, the next time you get to a superbowl and see your life long dream get taken away by referee errors let me know who you think is a whiner.

This kind of reminds me of the Carolina game last year.
The saints defense is still soft but emotion is so much of the game they might be able to will this one out.

If that actually had happened to the Seahawks I may understand but it didn't. They were beat by a better Steelers team and the refs had nothing to do with it.

give me a break. I'm not a hawks fan but it upsets me to no end when people call the hawks whiners, the refs wrecked that game, they handed the Steelers a TD, helped with another and took 2 away from Seattle.
The hawks didn't out play the steelers, but the steelers didn't destroy the hawks either. The point is we'll never know who the better team was that day ... thanks to the refs.
The NFL is a great league, but the one thing I wish they'd do is committ to the refs full time.
... Man I love this Colston WR.
It get the business reason why not, but they are jerking with the integrity of the game vs saving a few bucks.

Lets face it, that's why Holmgren didn't get fined by the NFL, becuase they realized that they were right, not whining.

If thats what you believe than go ahead and blame it on the refs. I saw maybe two questionable calls. And the TD on rothlisberger really didn't do much to chagne the game. The Steelers stillwould have scored.
The refs didn't let Randle-El throw the TD. The refs didn;t miss tackles and block on the Willie Parker run. the refs didn't make Hasselback and Holmgren turn into morons at rclock management. And the refs didn't cause Hasselback to throw all those incompletions.
The Steelers were the better team and deserved to win. Its too bad Holmgren and the Seahawks found it easier to blame the refs than admit that they were not good enough to win.
I am not a Steelers fan but it drives me nuts to hear the Seahawks whine about the refs, when they had nothing to do with the loss.

The refs DID take two TD's from seattle on two brutal calls, they DID hand #7 a TD, sure they would have been on the half yard line ... but who knows what would have happened. Remember what happened they were on the 1/2 yard line in their previous game vs Indy? And they helped Pittsburgh with better field position after that awful, nasty, dirty play by Hassleback trying to make that tackle.
And the previous post is right, most coaches would have been fined what what Holmgren had to say.
I've been in ball for a long time, and I know that after all that work all year long, and you get to a lifetime goal, not being allowed to compete because of the refs is beyond frustrating.

The call on Hasselbeck was atrocious, but I've seen enough replays of the other incidents to convince me they were the correct calls.

you saw Rothlisberger cross the line? Really? Better tell the NFL because they admitted to being wrong.
the holding and PA are grey vs the B&W of the other calls but they were both soft, they both went against the same team and they cost said team 14 points.

I thought that the hold was clear and not questionable at all and that the PA while weak had been called enough that season against other teams that it wasn't horrible.

so:
1) brutal call on Hasselback sets up Pittsburgh
2) Ben didn't score, but the refs gave em six anyway
3) A 'weak' PI call ... one that is not called the vast majority of the time.
And it's clear Pittsburgh deserved to win and Seattle is a bunch of annoying whiners?
If I was Holmgren I'd be ****ed an bring the brutal officiating out in the open.
You'll note they said their piece then moved on, nobody has said anything in 06. They don't dwell on it ... and to say Karma has bit them in the a$$ by injuring #37?!?!

I know, I had goosebumps.
It kind of reminded me of a MNF game about 11 years ago where we beat the LA Raiders 30-0 I think ... Oakland was the king of Monday knights, and the dome patrol stepped up and hit em in the mouth all night long.
Mark Simoneau and Scott Fujita improves this defence big time. The best addition to the offence this year is not #25, but #12 ... love those Hoffstra WR's.

Yep, Payton is all about good football players, not great athletes that might turn into good football players which was the legacy of the Haslett era. Colston looks like he may be Brees' go to guy a la Antonio Gates, great story being the third last player picked in this years draft. It was great to see the Saints defence dominate again.

1. What brutal call? The block? Not that brutal and didn't really set up Pittsburgh
2. They gave them 4 max. Easy FG at the minimum and on the half yard with a great o-line and great RB's.
3. The call was weak but had been called plenty of times in the season. No screw job there.
So at most the Seahawks were screwed out of 4 points and the Roethlisberger TD was so close that it is hard to really complain about it. It wasn't like he was out by a yard or two. Realistically they couldn't stop the Steelers and couldn't score either. If Stevens could hold on to the ball perhaps they wouldn't have had to resort to whining about the refs.

Well what bugged me about the officiating in the Superbowl was that it took what could have been a really good close exciting game and made it into the type of game that occurs too often in the NFL where the result is known 10 minutes before the game ends. I still think the better team won the game, but the bad officiating took the enjoyment out of the game for the viewer. Considering the NFL is a multi billion dollar bussiness and they still won't committ peanuts to officiating their game it blows me away. Football is an entire game of judgement calls, yet the NFL doesn't think officiating is important.
