Default PC Microphone Issues

Hey Everyone... I have pretty much exhausted everything that I know... and potentially the knowledge of the Googlez as well!

I have a Turtle Beach headset at home, (Mic and Headphone) hooked up to my PC Motherboard (HD) via the Mic In and Audio Out Lines, plugged into a USB wall plug to power it. I am running Windows 10.
MB is ASUS P5P800-SE Headset is Turtle Beach Ear Force X12

I have the Microphone at 100%, everything turned up to Max (including the +30 decibals) and while making a Video I am still having sound issues. I can record everything just fine, but when I go to do playback I can barely hear my own voice. If I crank my sound up, then I get that annoying hiss while listening.

I have updated my drivers, changed my levels, unplugged and plugged back in and have exhausted almost everything I can think of. If I plug the USB power into my PC, then I get some mad interference in my recording.

Does anyone have any ideas at all?

Thanks in Advance!

Is the recording software using your headset microphone as the recording device? What recording software do you use - does it specify where it's getting its inputs from?

I run Audacity, and it's very clear where it's picking up each channel.

Also, the link you provided for the X12 shows it has microphone monitoring. Can you hear your amplified voice in your headset?

You need to determine if the issue is the microphone, the jack (ie. motherboard) or the software that is failing you.

I use Teamspeak (issue is still present) and Movavi to do my screenrecording. So just Sound and Sound/Video.

I cannot actually hear my voice in my headset...

Is there a way that I can easily figure out if it is my 1) Microphone 2) Jack that is causing the issue.

Pretty sure it is not a software issue, as this appears to happen in all my software that I run.

Easiest thing is to get another (working) microphone to test your jack or if you have another computer, try the headset there.

Hmmm. The X12 link also notes that there is a mic mute switch. Did you check if that is on?

Yeah, that mutes the Microphone 100%

I will see if I can track another headset or pc down to test it. In my research it has also come up that there could be something wrong in Windows 10 that is causing this, although I cannot really confirm that.

You're right, there do seem to be complaints with this headset and win 10. Some have fixed it with proper drivers of their sound card.

Does your headset show up as the default recording device?

Yeah it does. I can test my headset with my laptop when I get home tonight and rue that out one for sure.

Yup, pretty much got it nailed down to Realtek vs Windows 10...

Which really stinks because everything I have tried that everyone has suggested has not worked.

UGH!

Thanks
