Studio 60 was great, I downloaded...errrr taped it and watched it last night. Great writing, good to see Sorkin back. I was kinda depressed when West Wing ended, loved that show even without Sorkin running it. Still wanna check out Smith and Jericho this season for new shows. Still cant wait for LOST, Veronica Mars and the Shield(January) to start back up!!!!

I thought Smith was quite good.
There was a good article in the Globe on the weekend about how this year may be the best year ever for American TV.

^^^I can see that. I checked out the premiere of Kidnapped last night and it was also very good. Tremendous cast including Delroy Lindo (who is really under-rated), Jeremy Sisco, Dana Delaney, etc. And the big bad guy is the guy that played one of the more notrious baddies from X-files, the creepy dude that could stretch is body all over the place.
Anyhoo worth checking out too.
I also watched Jericho. A little too cheezy for my taste. Which is good as I don't really want another show to watch. I think the two I'll continue to watch out of the new ones are Studio 60 and Kidnapped.

ya, I liked Smith as well. I watched The Unit and thought it was alright. Might take a bit to get into it.
but then again, limiting myself to Studio 60 and Smith, might be a good thing as well.

I just got a chance to rent it from the internet.. I have to say it was impressive. I heard that the pilot wasn't even the best that the show has to offer.. that sounds promising.

No question, the second episode was even better than the first.
Here's my only beef though - I'm not diggin' the main female character. Not Amanda Peet - the blonde one that's a member of the cast.
She and Matthew Perry's character are I guess the love interest part of the show, but I don't find her appealing in the list. Frankly her character is just whiney and dull.
But that's a small quibble - the rest of the show is top drawer.

She's kinda ugly too... She seems to come off as some kind of stereotype for a "Christian" too. It's kinda weird.

I think she will be used for interesting discussions on religion. It kind of looks like they are trying to make her appear to be a flighty actress, yet with a strong understanding of herself.
This show definitely has Sorkin's trademarks all over it - the moving discussions, really intelligent characters without making them appear 'nerdy', the episode ending just as the moment the characters was focused on begins, and so on.
As long as John Wells is kept away, this show will be a keeper.

They don't really seem to have any chemistry as love interests and I'd say she isn't particularly funny . . . . . but then she carried off that scene busting in on his meeting pretty well.
This is a good show. . . .

I think I'm partly struggling with the character because of the character she also played on Deadwood who was a very nasty woman. Having a hard time seeing past that perhaps.

Thank God for PVR. I don't know how anyone could make time to watch all these great network shows.

I saw the ads for the second episode and hadn't yet gotten around to watching the premiere. So I watched them both last night.
I'm glad Timothy Busfield is in the cast - I always like his characters.

I hear ya, Neeper. If it weren't for the fact that I have Bell, I'd be screwed. I get all the shows at about 4 different times. Sundays and Thursdays are a pain.

Tim;s lines were few and far between but the zingers were awesome.
the part where he tells the producer about being down to one camera, actually had me going.
funny stuff.
and I agree matthew perry's love interest is being forced. it doesnt seem natural. maybe it will get better as the episodes go on.
