I think you're supposed to get the job first, then quit the old one?

Announcing you're available is a bad look. Especially if no one is looking

I hope he gets a job just so I don't have to listen to him on TV.

How could you possibly know teams think it looks bad?

He's not likely to get many job offers if no one knows he's interested.

Far as I can tell their regular season is over. NHL season is about to be over. Seems like now is the perfect time to come back and look for a job.

Who says he quit? His #1 ranked team got swept in the first round of the playoffs, I think he got fired.

Les Lions de Zurich ne vont pas renouveler le contrat de Marc Crawford. Équipe favorite Zurich à été éliminé en 4 matchs en première ronde.

I'm not sure it is either. Article just says he isn't returning. Not sure why anyone would assume he quit on them or got fired. No reason to jump to conclusions on this. Maybe his contract is up and he wants to come back to the NHL.

This is interesting. Mathews has repeatedly mentioned that having Crawford as his coach was a large part of his decisions to play in Switzerland.

The Lavoie tweet says the Lions decided not to renew his contract.

Anyways Crawford is terrible at the NHL level IMO. I think it would be a bad move for an NHL team to go with him.

Wow, talk about jumping to conclusions.

Reports out of Switzerland are saying he was their best player in the playoffs and it shouldn't be on him. Lot's of the Swiss fans are putting a lot of the blame on Crawford.

So the oilers are going to draft Matthews and then make Crawford the coach to please Matthews....it's only a matter of time I guess.

Okay as much as I hate Hartley, please don't replace him with Crawford. I don't even know much about his NHL coaching career (I think it was actually decent, right?) but I can't stand looking at the face that infuriated me behind the Canucks bench in '04.

But what if (obvious hypothetical scenario) getting Matthews meant taking Crawford. Talk about your double edged swords.
