the refs didn't help. I'm not a fan of conspiracy theories, but the reffing sure seems anti-Flames in recent weeks. Including today's game:
355 penalty minutes in the 48 games before the Wideman incident (7.39 PIM per game)
172 penalty minutes in the 16 games since the Wideman incident (10.75 PIM per game)
go figure.

Good showings by Monahan, Hathaway and Hamilton. Garbage from our leaders. Gio was terrible tonight. Brodie gets beaten like a rented mule. And then there's Hiller. I am tired of the excuses. Everyone knows he is not fit to be an NHL goaltender right now. We have three keepers on the roster. He should not even be dressing the rest of the year.
For that matter, even though they aren't our biggest problems, I don't see any reason why Stajan or Bollig dress the rest of the year. Give those spots to kids in the minors.
All this bs about how young players have to earn it and "look at the red wings model". Well Babcock has Nylander and Kapanen leading the Leafs in icetime. And why the hell not? What is Hartley proving except that he is utterly unable to adapt?

We might as well be playing Mason MacDonald in net at this point. He would probably give us a better chance to win than when Hiller is between the pipes.
Bad defense, absolutely putrid goaltending. The beat goes on.
I'm tired of losing. I just want to win.
With our luck, if the Flames finish in the bottom 3, they won't be drafting in the top 3 after the draft lottery.

The extra 2% lottery odds for 28th or 29th aren't worth it if it means finishing behind the Oilers.
And I hope in my long long lifetime I never see the Flames as the worst team in the NHL, standings wise.
Hiller can't be blamed. This team looks like it's given up, and going to get ugly. I have my doubts whether Hartley and his ultraquiet staff have any solutions for the rest of the year. The loud and strict message didn't work this year, nor did the special teams, and that leaves Hartley with not much to hold over the roster.
The Quest stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little, and it will fail, to the ruin of all. Yet hope remains while the Company is true. Go Flames Go!
Hathaway is fun to watch. Nakladal playing well. I love that he's not afraid to shoot and he's the only defenseman we have that can actually move ppl off the puck instead of just pinning them to the boards. Strong guy. I hope we give him a contract next year and that he makes the team out of training camp.

Can't see how anyone could defend Hiller at this point. For a guy that was whining about not getting starts a few weeks ago, he sure seems to have checked out completely. What a joke
