What does this mean?

I always get a crack out of some of these small guys making fun of even smaller guys. Connor is the 145 champ and he was constantly poking up and Faber. Nate taking cracks and Mcgregor calling him a midget and not a real man for, then 30 seconds later pumping up one of his training partners at 145.

What does that mean?

a visual test is very simple. If you take Silva who got popped for steroids in his last fight. Silva looked no different for that fight then he did any other fight leading up to it. So he passed the visual test (one can say he was always taking steroids but thats not the point)

Coror has gained a lot (lot) of muscle in a very short period of time and since the male body doesn't go through a second puberty it's very doubtful that Conor will pass the visual test

I can see why the comment shut him up and rattled him till the reported got him back on track with something else

By no means am I saying that Conor is on steroids but I do understand why it sidetracked him.

You can tell Conor loves the Diaz's as he could have easily had a field day if he wanted to

It probably upset him to be accused at all. You'd get upset if I accused you of something you didn't do. duh.

Conor passes the visual test, besides more tattoos and haircut he looks the same.

What exactly happened at the end of the third? My connection was terrible so I didn't see parts of the fight. It looked like Bisping asked for time, then Herb was stepping in (with a mouth guard?) to break it, when Silva, who didn't see Dean, through a knee that knocked Bisping down. Was Bisping stopping because he thought there was a break? If Silva wasn't aware of any of this, and Dean did not pause the fight in any way, why didn't Silva jump on Bisping until the fight was stopped? Did it just result in Bisping being saved by the bell? I'm so confused.

Anyways, from what I saw, I had no problem with Bisping winning 3 rounds. Silva is not good enough anymore to be as cocky as he was. He could still be a threat in the MW division, but not when he clowns around like that.

Silva was pounding Bisping against the cage. Had him in a clinch. They seperated. Bisping pointed at Herb Dean regarding not having his mouthpiece and in the process left himself wide open, Herb Dean (who had it in his hand) acknowledged Bisping with a nod of his head and Silva came in and kneed him right on the buzzer.

Then for whatever reason (seeing Dean rush in and thinking he is stopping it as opposed to the end of the round?) Silva starts celebrating as if the fight was over?

It was a case of Bisping being saved by the buzzer. Silva had no time to follow up. But I'm thinking the reason he didn't was because he thought Herb Dean had stopped the fight and he was unaware the round had ended hence the celebration.

No issues with the judges or how anyone would score that fight

Silva kicked his a$$, aside from the knockdown in the 2nd that fight Bisping did very little. Not talking about visual damage (as some fighters show more then others)

But Silva hand speed on counters has drastically slowed down and was the reason this fight went the distance

Crazy end to the 3rd, damned if you do damned if you don't. No matter what call Herb made someone would have criticized it

Say what you want about McGregor, you have to respect the fact he's going from 145 to 170 lbs to fight Nick Diaz.

From the reports after the Aldo fight and the look of McGregor at the weigh ins... he can no longer make the 145 weight class

I won't be surprised if he is the heavier fighter on fight night

Last report I heard on Diaz from his boxing trainer he was weighing 175lb and looking at a 4lb weight cut heading into the fight. No idea where Conor is though

Pretty cool what McGregor does for this fan. I initially saw the clip on his IG.

I'm probably going to watch the fights, but I have to suspend my commonsense when a guy packs on 25lbs of muscle in 12 weeks, despite already being in excellent physical condition. The transformations we see on the biggest loser are incredible, but those people start from ground zero, yet this guy just adds a couple pounds a week, and jumps up by four weight classes in boxing with relative ease? Something seems awry.

You have to remember that a lot of times many of the fighters cut significant weight before their fights to make catch weight. Someone fighting at 145lbs may regularly walk around at 155-160lbs, and sometimes even more.

So I wouldn't necessarily say he's "gained" 25lbs in such a short period of time. His normal weight could be closer to that already. Also, their entire day's regiment revolves around exercise and training, and they have dedicated teams to ensure they're eating right and tons of food. Over a 12 week span, it's certainly possible.

You're completely ignoring the weight cutting factor to get "on weight".

170 is probably closer to Connor's actual walking around weight, he won't be cutting any weight for this fight in the days leading up to it.

Well I'm really not ignoring that, and I definitely understand that guys are cutting a ridiculous amount these days. It is bizarre that just a couple weeks ago he was supposed to be dialed in for a 155 fight and now he is ready to roll at 170 though?

The other point here is that its not as simple as "just don't cut". Not only would he want to be bigger to fight at 155 (170), but he will want to strip away the fat anyway to fight there. This article gets into a little more of that and was written more about his fight at 155: http://www.boxingnewsonline.net/cono...-moving-on-up/

Obviously Diaz thinks he is on steroids, or has at least brought it up. Its an enormous move up and it is basically all of a sudden. If he shows up at the weigh-ins and is much less than 170, that is a different story (not sure how far below you can be according to the rules though?), but I can't be the only observer who questions a jump in fighting weight of 25lbs in 12 weeks.

Looks like a pretty natural combo of fat/added bulk to me. I'm sure it wasn't hard to put significant amount back on his frame coming back from 145 when he was essentially starving himself.
