Really surprised Murray was picked ahead of Hamilton on the blueline

Hamilton is one of the best young defencemen in the game IMO.
Don't have to take just my word for it. His draft position tells it. The thought heading into his draft that he was a generational type defensemen tells it. The fact he's in strong consideration for the U-23 tells it. His strong rookie year as an 18 year old tells it.

Haven't seen anybody backing up your point that Hamilton is tiers ahead of him.

Ghost bear is a bigger omission than Hamilton.

This is a good point. How badly will Team USA miss Johnny Gaudreau? A hell of a lot more than Team Canada will miss Connor McDavid.

I mean... Abdelkader?! USA had to scrape the bottom of the barrel just to get to 16.

Sweden on the other hand is like "Klingberg, Lindholm? Meh, no room"

Canada, US and Sweden look the best thus far. My homer hope is Canada's depth will shine through when the rest of the team is announced. Not sure that will necessarily be the case, but I do hope we manage to insert some younger (but over 23) talent to push them over the top. Thanks, but no thanks to Staal, Nash, etc.

Could change in few years when gaudreau, eichel and Matthews are older. USA will be scary.

But that is exactly the point: Team USA would look at least as good as Sweden NOW if they had access to players like Gaudreau, Eichel, and Matthews.

Since they used the Hockey Canada logo on the announcement, why can't they put it on the fricken jersey?

This is setting up as another easy tournament for Canada, they are going to kill the competition. Only way it would be interesting is if Price can't play.

Ryan Murphy didn't make the team. If a Cane was to make it, it would be Noah Hanifin over Ryan Murphy any day

I won't be too worried if Holtby is back there.

Man, that under 23 squad looks great offensively. Defence and goaltending leave a bit to be desired but guys in those positions tend to mature later so it's to be expected.
