Don't know what's with all the negativity. At this rate were getting one of the Finns. Well have a complete first line for the next decade. We've been in every game we've lost since Anaheim. Nakladal looks sick, scores a one timer ala Iggy. Jokipakka picks up his first point. I'm not enjoying being out of it so early but I'm perfectly fine with the way things are going.
People need to save their frustration over results for next season when it'll actually matter. What matters now is effort and progression of players.

Great game from Ortio - he seems to be gaining confidence with each start. He just needs to get that win under his belt.
Just his first game but Jokipakka was better than I expected him to be. Good positioning, lots of physical play, moved the puck well, jumped into the play, and got on the scoresheet. Pretty solid.
Nice to see Nakladal get rewarded for his solid play. Pretty much everyone who watches Heat games agreed that he was an NHL player and shouldn't be in the AHL. After two weeks or so now, I think he has proven us right.
Another impressive effort from Hathaway.
All in all a pretty impressive road game IMO, for a team that is out of it, on the road, on a back to back, and in two barns where the other team is trying to intimidate them into rolling over.
They aren't quitters.

I think some folks are nervous of the losing because of what's going on north of Calgary.
Don't worry about that though, the Flames aren't being run by dumb and dumber the way the Oilers were for all those years. Treliving craps out better hockey decisions than those two buffoons could ever come up with in their collective life times.
What's more likely to happen here IMO, is kind of what happened in Florida.
They have some nice young pieces and some decent vets, manage to squeak into the playoffs and make a run. Then they fall back to earth, have a bad couple of years but manage to snag guys like Ekblad and Barkov at the top of the draft.
Now they are trending towards being a very good team for a very long time.

Ugh. Feels like we won't win another game for the rest of the season. Losing is no fun. A couple weeks ago I was convinced that nobody could out-suck the Oilers or Leafs, but it might actually be possible with this current Flames team. Hopefully that won't happen though.
