I wonder how much of that is management not wanting to bury money in the minors.
Kind of drives me nuts too. Thankfully we've cleared out a few of those mediocre vets.

I couldn't figure out what their point was. Bergeron sticks out his leg knowing Hathaway is behind him...huh?

Bergeron extended his leg to stay onside just as Hathaway was throwing a hit, and he ended up nudging him on the extended leg. It was not a big deal

I know it's unrealistic to expect this kind of consistent ####-disturbing out of Hathaway, but he sure does have that trait, I hope he uses it

Wow - this game really shows off how many plugs the Flames have and where their deficiencies are. Better than they were in the Iginla period, but still deficient in positioning and weight. So little support for the puck carrier - something they were terrific at last year. And just brutally bad passing from the back end except for Brodie.
Guess we just got really spoiled last year. Sigh.

Cannot watch the game live so curious how Jyrki Jokkipakka is looking? (also to save typos on his name can we refer to him as J2?, better than Kevin!)

Looks steady to me; seems to jump into the play when required and he moves the puck decently. Good so far.

Bouma is becoming a Bollig in becoming a periperial player. All they do is get rid of the puck as soon as they can and get to the bench....no efforts at all.

Made a bad pinch in the 1st. Other than that, steady eddy IMO. Made some nice hits, makes safe passes. Probably has the highest pass completion percentage of the entire team tonight. Not the fastest but he looks more than capable.
