Sorry but thats an excuse for what has been the worst defense in the NHL this season. You could add a better goaltender but this team will only move up from 27 to 20th at best with the blue chip scoring chances this team gives up nightly.

I think McGuire made a good point today, our forechecking is not nearly as effective as last year

I've become numb to the losing.

So this must be what it's like to be an Oilers fan. Huh.

Lost 5 in a row. 2nd longest active losing streak behind ARI 6 losses. Frustrating season but nice reward at the end potentially.

Hathaway fit in. Love that line.

Who do you sit for Jokipakka? Tough question.

My goodness the Oilers are terrible. Flames are going to have to extend this losing streak past 10 games to get close to them.

Hathaway was a refreshingly solid interview for a young guy.

Brodie was awful today, probably the worst game he's had in over a calendar year. Is he injured?

Also Engelland is not a top 4 defenseman and we can't get Dennis Wideman back soon enough.
Wideman is not a top 4 D.

What I don't get is why someone else hasn't been given a chance to play with Hamilton. Engelland is not good enough, why not try Wotherspoon? Hopefully Kevin gets a chance to play with Hamilton tomorrow.

Sucks that both Wotherspoon and Nakladal will soon be pushed out of the lineup cuz Hartley will want to play Engelland and Wideman.

I will go glass half full after a crappy game. The top line was buzzing, and Monahan especially had a pretty decent game. The bottom pairing D was solid again. Hathaway was fine, Frolik was good, Backlund was good, Bennett was himself, Ferland was effective, Colborne was just fine. They had a great powerplay goal, and the next power play had full control (just never shot). And they showed some gumption in both not taking crap and in coming back a bit. All of this after losing a couple glue guys.

Good lord, you're hitting polak levels of negativity. Yes this season sucks, but we knew it was going to happen eventually in a rebuild. Maybe if it goes on a few more years you can compare us to the Oilers, until then, maybe stick to watching Panthers games

These losses aren't even bad. The dwindling Iginla years were bad, as well as the 90s. Those losses didn't have the same silver lining. Right now I feel like this is a small part of the overall process and there's a legit chance of winning a cup once the team starts winning

I appreciate the posters that post multiple times during the GT and in the PGT about how little they care anymore, and also provide updates on just how little they care anymore, because it's very important that everyone knows just how little they care anymore.

I'm guessing it has to do with protecting Wotherspoons minutes. For the first time, he looks solid at the NHL level. Let's not push him too quickly in a meaningless season just because we are lacking a true #4, let Engelland eat those minutes, we aren't concerned with his development and he's not too fragile so he can take it.
