Tough to win when you give up as many goals as the Flames do. It will be interesting to see how the team addresses this in the offseason as the issue is deeper than personnel.

Typical loss for the Flames this season. Poor defensive coverage/special teams, and poor goaltending.
They made it close at least.
Onto the next one.

Loved the Ferland - Bennett - Hathaway line. Look forward to seeing some of the other kids come up. Freddie Hamilton and Kenny Agostino will get a look as well I'm sure.

I liked the jump and physicality the Flames showed.
Hathaway is fun to watch, and works well with Bennett and Ferly.
Entertaining game yet again so I can't complain. I hope we see Jokipakka tomorrow.

Now that the deadline has passed, it is going to be a long end to the season. Hopefully we continue to see some of the kids get a chance.

Do people really believe goaltending will save this team? We could add the league leader in SV% right now and that guy would post a .850 next season if the team in front plays like that second period.
Brodie was awful today, probably the worst game he's had in over a calendar year. Is he injured?
Also Engelland is not a top 4 defenseman and we can't get Dennis Wideman back soon enough.

.857 save percentage I know its not all his fault but solid goal tending would make a big difference

Could be a while. I don't see vast improvement coming next season unless they decide to overhaul the coaching staff.

Goaltending is not the only problem, but I really believe that when the team don't trust the guy to make some saves, it fundamentally changes how they play in front of him. Bad tending undermines everything else. Solid goaltending is tables stakes to winning in the NHL.

Oh man, this team.... Its just awful. This is easily the worst Flames team since '03.
Can't wait for Hartley to be gone and for someone to implement a system that doesn't depend on the other team forgetting how to play hockey.
Hathaway looked good. At least Johnny got a point even though I think he was a bit of a puck hog and trying to score one in his hometown.

I really liked what I saw from all the newer and younger guys. Hathaway played really well.
