I really like it.. I wish they played more new music like they did in the first few weeks. I like the style and was loving all the new music that I'd never heard of. Definitely still filling the void for me with my permanent protest of Amp Radio

I didn't agree with what he had to say most of the time, but I at least understood where he was coming from.

To me Carly was essential. Having a female to balance the other two really added to the conversations in my opinion. Once she left I stopped listening pretty quickly and jumped to using Rdio in the car exclusively.

This thread has reminded me how much I love streaming music services. They can make a "radio" station that basically has the target demographic of you. I don't see how traditional radio can ever compete with that.
Just a note to the X929 listeners, they've change the morning show to Tyler and Lynch with Fraser moving to the drive home show.

I used to be a regular X listener in the mornings, but it quickly became super annoying with the try hard attitudes and over the top stoner laughs...maaaan.

Hopefully it becomes listenable again as the music is livable in terms of Calgary radio.

This station keeps getting better and better. Initially half their songs were pop, but now they've gone mainly alternative, but some lesser known stuff and throwback tracks thrown in which really makes their playist more interesting.

I just wish stations would drop Bastile. I think their music is annoying as hell. They fail making even a half decent hook or chorus, yet they're played non stop. How some bands get huge on tracks like that is beyond me.

For 95.3, their morning show is terrible as well.

Both hosts suffer from fake announcers voice syndrome which is so irritating it's un-listenable.

Blake, just talk normal and it'll all be fine.

Additionally Carly has moved on. Hopefully it's no longer awkward to listen to their dialogue.

The broadcast power of the station is still weak so I don't listen. I don't like listening to fuzzy music.

Sounds like Carly decided to travel overseas for a while.

Fraser as the drive guy is good. Tyler and Lynch in the mornings is not. I don't dislike either guy individually, but their voices are too annoying to wake up to. Also, talk slower and enunciate better when doing the news!

As far as Peak goes, every time I flipped to the station, it was playing something I hate. I finally gave up on it.

Well I don't know about you guys, but I don't listen to radio stations for the hosts.

Also if I don't like a host, then there's always something called a dial.

And people don't watch hockey for the hosts, either... But a good host or a crappy host can change a lot. Thanks, though. I, for one, had no idea that my radio had a dial.

No kidding. What a useless post, djsFlames.

Well that's that. The Peak is now a country station.

Their broadcast quality always sucked so I never gave them a chance past the first listen.

I'm surprised it took so long for someone to start up another country station in this city.

Too bad, as I liked to switch between them and X92.9. Also weird that they made the switch abruptly at 10:15AM this morning. I was listening to them on the way to work this morning and then when I jumped into my car at lunch it was country.

Ffs. That was the only station that was tolerable.

Well... crap. Not a big surprise though. The station was basically Air 106 with a transmitter that reaches all of Calgary instead of just the north.

Also, "Wild 95.3"? There is nothing wild about country music.

That really sucks, was my go-to FM station. I miss Sonic from living in the Edmonton area, and The Peak played similar music (though the hosts were no Garner Andrews).

Another reason to hate country...

There was another country station for a while about 10 years ago but it didn't last long. There was also a country station that started broadcasting out of Okotoks or High River a few years ago but I don't know if they are still on the air.
