I don't mind Jones. He would be a good 4th liner if he made the league minimum. That being said, I'm pretty sure him being overpaid has cost us exactly zero opportunities for UFAs or trades. He's just one of seven or eight players being paid way too much.

Raymond would make more sense than Jones. Raymond is from around Calgary and I am sure he has tons of friends and family who own his jersey. Jones is just a weird one.

Yeah I agree the Hawks could be first. But it's easy to be first when your going after a cup. But in a vacuum I don't think the Hawks "stole" their players. I think they slightly overpaid, so I didn't make them first. But no doubt they likely "win" the deadline just by hoisting the cup alone
