Thank you Kris Russell!
Regardless of everyone's thoughts on his current season, Russ was instrumental in our drive to the playoffs last year. When Gio went down, he and Wideman really stepped up and played some phenomenal hockey.
For a 5th round pick, Russell was an excellent Flame and will be dearly missed! Best of luck in Dallas!

Echo the OP. I wasn't a huge fan of his, but nobody can deny that he gave his heart and soul to this team and is now getting a deserved trade to a team that(fingers crossed) should go deep into the play offs. Best of luck Kris, thanks for everything over the last 3 years.

Great pickup by Feaster that proved to be much more than a depth Dman. He was a beast against the Canucks last year and a huge part of the team identity. Hoping Dallas can somehow come out of the central and make the 3rd round

good luck Russel.
The flames lose 2 massive pieces that meant so much to last year's team. No doubt, flames are worse now than they were before. Curious what the team does come draft day to fill the voids created.
That being said, solid return by the flames.

Was actually a big Russell fan and sorry to see him go. Dude is a straight up warrior.

Russell was one of the biggest parts of our success last spring. Filled the shoes of Giordano and started scoring huge goals when they were needed. Set record for blocked shots. Great guy and a competitor.

Russell truly one of the good guys.
I remember meeting Chris at an event shortly after he was signed
By the Flames and i asked him so is it good to back in Alberta. And he commented its great to be home. I hope to be able to end my career here. He talked about ranching and his days as a a Rebel.
Really enjoyed watching Russell while he was a Flame. Such a hard nosed player for his size.
Saved alot of goals on the Pk blocking shots.
Best of luck to Russell get DAL in the conference final lol.

Russell was classy and a good leader for the young guys. Great person and gave it his all here. Even when some posters here gave up on him, Kris never gave up on the Flames...he battled to the end!
