He threw a nasty butt-end into Monahan's head last year.
So there's that.
Watching that again pisses me off.
Jones at least responds, but as a whole our team does not react to stuff like this properly. By properly, I mean blood for blood. If that had happened to Vatanen or Toffoli - do you think that wouldn't be responded to in a big, big way? Doesn't mean we need to respond with a cheap shot, but we do need to respond with big hits and fights when required.
So yeah, if Brett Ritchie is available, and if he does have that edge to his game - I'd like him to be on this team.
so is Treliving sitting on an offer and hoping someone beats it at the last minute by throwiing in another pick, or is he waiting on one team and whether they will add one particular player into the mix?

Burke apparently said the offers are increasingly getting better for Russell. He also said there's pretty much no way he's not going to be traded, because they can't sign him.

And the team that made the offer is Russell or nothing? I would think they are looking for other options and if they find them it the offer to the flames gets pulled.
Could be the most they want to spend on a rental is a 2nd or 3rd round pick ... what is the best D-man that we will get with this.
Imagine how disappointed we would have been when the Flames were in the hunt for the playoffs last year and would have trade away 2 2nds for a rental.... to replace Gio. Really has to be very few teams that realistically think that this is their year and Russell would be the difference maker.

According to a league source, Bruins and Flames discussing D-man Kris Russell but source added it's too soon to say if a deal gets done.

Burke just blustering since the offers are probably below expectation.
I'm betting that's not the case though since it makes no sense to say that. Not good for maintaining any form of credibility going forward if the return was less.

If we were a contender, I would not be upset with that whatsoever.
As much as we love draft picks, outside of them being used as currency, they're fairly useless.

Too soon to say? It's not like Sweeney or Treliving can discuss a possible trade and sleep on it as they have less than two hours to get this done so anything being discussed has to be close to firm both ways.
