Oh wow. I missed that tweet.
Would be a coup to get him. I would add the second we got for Hudler and more.

See, now I'm getting unnecessarily excited... even though it is a pipe dream... I suppose Russell + Jones + 2nd pick. Could that do it? Does Dallas need a grinder 4th line big forward to replace whoever is going to replace Nichushkin?

Honestly I feel quite safe about this trade. I am confident that Brad will get us a good return - Nichushkin or not.

Nah, who are we kidding... Anything involving Nichushkin would need a 1st rounder somewhere in the equation...

Would Russell (50% retained) + Poirier + 2016 2nd get it done for Nichushkin?
Off-topic, Nichushkin is a name that looks like it's spelled incorrectly the more I type it.

Klimchuck project to be a good 2 way player and was a 1st. If they dont need goal scorers maybe they need him? LOL

No, relatively common Russian last name. Pronounced: Nee–choosh-kin

I would love to have Valeri Nichushkin, but who do we have to add to Russell that Dallas would want?
+ Draft picks? Would two seconds be enough?
+ Backlund? They Seguin, Spezza and Eakin. So no.
+ Jones? Not sure he's an upgrade on any of their role wingers. So no.

In my eyes, Poirier, Klimchuk and Shinkaruk are all equally available. Dallas can take their pick.
Poirier has has accomplished the most of the three thus far, hence the reason I suggested him.

Yeah, I agree with this logic. And the optics for both GMs are good.

Brett Ritchie more likely. Flames were scouting Texas stars recently. Dallas also has prospects that do/require waivers this/next season.

I would do Russell and Jankowski for Nichushkin and a 3rd.

yes please! Ritchie would be a great fit going forward.
in the trade speculation thread, somebody also proposed Russell+Klimchuk+2nd for Nichushkin. I'd do it in a heartbeat, but I doubt it would get it done. Don't think the Flames are willing to give up what it takes to get Nichushkin ... they are in no position to trade high draft picks.

I forgot about Jankowski when I was thinking of proposals. The litmus test of any proposal is what is your immediate gut reaction to it the first time you see it. For me, seeing Jankowski included made me think to myself, "not sure I'd be willing to do that".
What that tells me is, that's close to what it would actually take.

the anticipated return for Russell is allegedly a 1st +
so that proposal is 1st + a plus + Jankowski
that's too much

Russell + for Drouin is a much more realistic outlook.

Say what you will about Rircardow but I think this poster is just as detrimental to the board. I don't really believe in using ignore (maybe I will with him going forward) and he's a tough poster to report, because he has so many useless drive-by's in threads that you'd probably drive the mods insane reporting them all.
But this is a perfect example of what elevates him from the typical one line posters. Comes in with a drive by, then doesn't get anything so the guy comes back and tries again a couple pages later. Just useless drivel that the board doesn't need, imo. But I also understand it's not my board, not my call, but figured I'd give my two cents since mods were weighing in on another poster.

"Too much" is likely what it would take to get a player like Nichushkin out of Dallas at this stage.
edit - And I'm ok with that. Calgary desperately needs a RW that can fill top line minutes and play a heavier style. Nichushkin fits that bill and would be a great fit in Calgary.

Jankowski would essentially be worth a 2017-2nd. I could easily see him being moved as part of a package.
