Bad team defense overshadows shiney new toys in goal every time.

Flames totally blew this game. Sens were lucky on their 3 goals. The first one was Neil interfered with Engelland coming back on to play, Ryan interfered with Ortio and Jooris slowing down the puck that turned in to a goal. Possession-wise they struggled especially in the last 2 periods.

I'm still astonished at how bad this team became over the course of one summer. It's absolutely baffling. I really hope this is just a sophomore slump kind of thing, and they'll rebound with a great season next year. There's too much talent on this team for them to be this bad.

Garbage effort tonight. Beaten by a faster hungrier team. Absolutely no excuse for it, especially the way it got away from them in the 3rd period.

Very concerned by how we defend, it's been terrible all season. Either our players aren't very good individually or as a unit to defend well, or the coaches aren't good enough to get us playing an effective defensive game. If Hartley can't find a way to improve us next season in this regard, his position needs to be seriously considered. Can't win games when you are conceding so many goals, especially when 7-8 of our roster are set for the long term.

There's a triple lottery. Any non-playoff team can finish top 3. If we finish bottom 5 we'll have a good chance of winning one of those lotteries.

Jooris or Colborne are healthy scratches, they draw in the next game and Hartely has them either on the PP or with the goalie pulled. I really don't understand Hartely a lot of the time

The difference was Hiller was consistently bad.

Ortio just delivered 8 straight periods of strong goaltending. During that time, no one said a peep about replacing him. Suddenly, a bad period, and multiple people come back out of the woodwork suggesting Calgary doesn't have a goalie.

Just grinds my gears. Don't mean to single any one person out.

Don't wait until a goalie has a rough period after extended stretches of solid play to take drive-by shots like this, thinking it makes you a good evaluator of talent.
LOL wipe your tears child. I never changed my stance on Ortio. Yeah he had a couple good games against LA and NYI. But his body of work in the NHL is very unimpressive.

I'm not sure about the "too much talent" part
