Wow. Romanuk making sense there re: Wideman. The process is a joke, for sure.
(Even thought I want him to sit out as much as possible...)

Can we give ortio a rest? Sweet jesus bypolar thread. Bounces have not gone his way. When johnny scores its a snipe and zbej scores on a great shot over the shoulder its a softie.
Ortio should start without question. Ortio kept us in this game early

1st goal Giordano had knocked Ortio's stick out of his hands to behind the net, Zibanejad made a great shot. 3rd goal, puck bounces off two Flames players, Zibanejad manages to get it up over Ortio's pad as he's going into the splits.
I don't think either of those are on him.
I'd play him again, made some great saves through the 1st and 2nd periods.
Also, he needs 10 more starts in order to not hit UFA.

5 goals on 23 shots plus 3 posts so far. No he really hasn't. I agree it's not all on him though and yes he should get next start regardless.

When was the last time a goalie got a penalty for playing the puck outside the trapezoid? Ortio looked pretty close there.

I got an eye roll for suggesting we look at his whole body of work instead of a hot streak before declaring him a great goalie

Wow, 21 seconds is the record for fastest hat trick? How is that even possible?

He's been brilliant in his first two starts of this three game stretch. The Flames have been dreadful in front of him tonight.
I'll give you one or two of them have been questionable goals tonight but he is absolutely not the only guy at fault here.

This team is broken. Not sure what's gonna fix it exactly, but getting rid of some these dead weight vets would certainly help. First thing we need though is a goaltender who can stop a puck once in a while.
