I am in the trade Russell camp but Flames are going to need a very good too 4 defenseman to play with Hamilton next year. That player is not on the roster or in the system currently. The drop off after Go and Brodie is immense.

With or without Russell the 3rd best defenceman on the Flames has been Hamilton this year IMO.

Totally agree--which is why keeping Russell isn't terrible, imo. However, if we can get awesome value for him, we trade him.

I also think Nakladal/Wotherspoon is a good 5/6.
