Boston can easily put together sweet packages. PIT has a few guys we might want too. LA doesn't have as much to tempt us IMO.

I wouldn't be opposed a trade where we toss in a 2nd with Russell and get back a top prospect.

Either Senyshyn or Sprong would be very good returns. I wanted both guys in the draft last year.
Sprong has oodles of high-end skill, even more than Shinkaruk or Poirier. What he lacks is mostly just polish. The craziest thing is that the team he plays for has one of the worst blue lines in the QMJHL so what he's doing is all him, what he could do with some puck-moving D like the Flames have would be something to see. He would instantly be our best winger prospect IMHO.
Senyshyn is a big, fast, strong, skilled burner coming from a junior team famous for emphasizing analytics in their own team construction. Potential is something like Chris Kreider. Not sure about the ceiling but he fits the "style" we want to play.

News UpdateDarren Dreger @DarrenDreger
The Boston Bruins have interest in Dan Hamhuis and at the moment, no reason to believe Hamhuis doesn't view Boston as an option.

Yeah, far too much focus on Dreger here. From what I understand, his claim to fame is having some contacts within the league office itself. Recall the Jokinen situation with him and the trade to the Rangers.
So, while he does have the ear of some GM's and agents, no different then some others, but where he gets his scoops is getting a heads up on trade calls etc so he can break it first from that end.
I think any team top 6 in the East will take a look at guys. So Isles, Rags, Tampa, Bruins, Pens, FLA all looking to having to make the playoffs, load up with depth, and go through WSH.

On HNIC they said Washington might look at Hamhuis & Russell with Carlson on LTIR giving them some cap flexibility.

Highly doubtful they'd move Samsonov so quickly after picking him in the first round not too long ago. They obviously really like him and wouldn't trade him for a rental.

Yup.
Plus, the Flames need a ready-now (or ready-soon) goalie, not another 19 year old

Conversely, it'ĺl also look good on Feaster if a guy he picked up for a 6th round pick gets that kind of return.

It's funny I remember that off-season the trade I was most pleased with was T.j Galiardi who was only 25 and a few seasons prior he put up 40 points in 70 gp as a rookie. He had injury problems the next couple yearsand I really thought he would put it together in Calgary.
Russell looks like he will net us a huge gain.
The book is still out on Colborne. I have faith he will be a good player for us one day, although the majority have now written him off.
So 1/3 for Feaster on the reclamation project trades that year?

You have to think that WSH makes a strong push for Russell. With the strong season they've had, it'd be a shame to have the late injury to Carlson be the reason they fail in the playoffs.

The Iginla situation was also different though. He only gave a list of two teams that he would go to which affected the trade value. Russell goes where he is traded to, giving Treliving much more options and hopefully a better return.

Not getting more for Hudler than he got for Glencross must have been embarrassing for Treliving. Potentially shows some regression in Brad's abilities.
Worse than that for Flames fans, Brad is running out of assets acquired by Feaster to trade. The vast majority o assets that Brad has acquired are untradeable (Hiller, Raymond, Engelland). Thankfully he has some of these Feaster assets to move like Hudler and Russell.

You've listed 3 assets, one of which is absolutely tradable in Engelland. The rest, they wouldn't want to trade, so your math, along with your assessment of GMs, is way off.

The trade market changes dramatically year to year.
