Can't see why any playoff team would prefer Hiller as a backup to Reimer at this point.

Garbage return for Reimer. A 4th that they won't cash in on, a rubbish goaltender and a 27 year old AHL player. Dear me, thats terrible.

The only team (San Jose) who might be willing to pick a veteran goaltender (Hiller) as a backup just picked up Reimer. Sucks bcause we are stuck with Jonas Hiller and we will lose him for nothing as I don't think the Flames will re-sign him.

Soft goalie market. Also the best case is he plays around 5-6 games (4 back to backs + 1 at end of season)...no reason for a team to pay much for an insurance policy.
We didn't give up anything for Hiller other than money, so it's not a big deal to not get any return.

Good trade for the Flames as they will get to see how he performs for a good team and possibly in the playoffs to gauge his value this summer. A .918 SV% on that Leafs team is impressive.
