Hudler strictly for picks also leaves us with 46/50 contracts. Potential to take back a prospect ontop of some UFA signings like Dryden or college players.
Im starting to turn on BT. Weak to average signings out side of Brodie. Weak trades. AHL system doesn't look to be doing a good job developing our guys.
Hamilton for 1st, and two seconds is weak?
Glencross traded 2nd and 3rd is weak?

Reasonable return, just having assets and cap space going into the off season and draft are where this really helps the Flames. I like the flexibility above all else although the impact Hudler has on our younger players is a huge benefit to the team. He will still be missed certainly.
Hudler has a bad reputation around the league this year due to a down right HORRIBLE start, is coming off a not-so-great playoffs, is 32 on an expiring contract, and is undersized and relatively slow.
Also the reports were out there that Calgary was looking for a 2nd rounder. Seems like that's where the market was for a while now, so we managed to get an extra 4th rounder out of it.

This seems irrational.
Hamilton was an amazing trade.
Glencross for a 2nd and 3rd - a player who isn't even in the NHL anymore, is an awesome return.
Hudler, an underperforming winger who is worth absolutely nothing to a team unless he shows up on the scoreboard, just returned a 2nd and 4th.
Baertschi requested a trade, and we got a 2nd - which doesn't seem out of line.
Granlund, an ineffective top 6 player and very average bottom 6 player returned an AHL all star who has lots of offensive potential, and better fills an organizational need.
Agostino, Hamilton, Grant, Kylington, Wotherspoon, Nakladal and now potentially even Ortio have all had strong seasons. Poirier was tasked with fixing his defensive game, and now seems to be rounding a corner.
I do not understand your criticism at all.

will forever be thankful for hudler. Helped develop Johnny and Sean into what they are right now and was a huge part of the most exciting season since 04 (2014-2015).

We had heard reports the Flames wanted a 2nd, and many people predicted he would get a 2nd. If you are disappointed in this trade, you simply haven't been paying attention.

Have to admit I'm slightly disappointed as I actually thought he could net more. But this is way better than being overly principled, holding on to him and getting nothing. Good deal. Now please trade Russell.

The Quest stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little, and it will fail, to the ruin of all. Yet hope remains while the Company is true. Go Flames Go!
