I know Ho-Sang might be a reach when considering what this team is all about with regards to respect and having the right 'team' attitude. Maybe they give up Dal Colle though if we put a good package together that could help them make a good playoff push. A guy like Hudler would be a big addition for their left side and Huds is a flexible winger in that he can play either side though in Calgary he has mainly been on the right wing.

Add to that fact that they have to move Hamonic and Hamonic wants to come to western Canada and maybe there could be some potential for a bigger trade here... Has NYI been scouting us at all?? I guess even if they have though it could be linked to last nights game as teams seem to scout future matchups quite a bit...

Just jonesing for some Flames trades !!

For craps and giggles:

To Calgary
Dal Colle
Hamonic
Combination of 2 mid picks OR Ho-Sang - their choice

To NYI
Russell 50% retained
Hudler 50 % retained
Andersson/Kylington - 1 of them their choice
Smith/Arnold/Klimchuk - 1 of them their choice
Dal Colle isn't struggling since he got traded to Kingston from Oshawa. Got 21 goals in 20 games for them. Also got 41 points in those games. That pace over a full OHL season is worth 120 points. They aren't trading him.

I really doubt the Isles trade Hamonic before the end of the season.

My hope is BT can put together a Hamilton-esque package to land him in the off-season, after accumulating picks for the next few days.

Snow may be more inclined to trade Hamonic for futures after the season is over and he can maybe replace him via trade or free agency.

Seriously though, if the Flames could snag Hamonic the top 4 D is set for 5+ years, and it would be top 5 in the NHL IMO.

Hmmm, you want a skilled veteran to mentor your prize young forward? You can have Hudler who played a big part in guiding Gaudreau and Monahan last year AND has a Stanley Cup ring, or you can have perennial loser Vrbata who pouted this year and struggled because he didn't get to play with the Sedins, or PUrcell who has turned Hall and Eberle into 200 foot stalwarts.

Seems like a pretty easy choice.

This does not describe Hudler

Chris Kuc @ChrisKuc
#Blackhawks like Teuvo Teravainen as a center. He's played well there. A gritty winger with a little scoring pop to play next to him wanted.

Is Jones worth anything if the Flames retain 50% of his salary?

I think Jones is worth something even at full salary.

I find it funny that TSN's trade tracker has Purcell, Schultz, Weise ahead of Hudler.

I don't find it funny. I find it puzzling, f'n stupid, nonsensical, ridiculous, etc. These guys are supposed to be insiders and pros?
