Also good for the lottery the Canucks, Jets, Blue Jackets and Leafs all with wins tonight.

Scientists still working on how to out-tank the Oilers though.

Yeah... that's was intense. It couldn't have been just for radio as it got personal at times. Maybe it was just for show but man... I'd have a hard time facing a co-worker after an exchange like that.

Say what you will, but I am really gonna miss Hudler. There was clearly something wrong with him earlier this year and this looks more like the 14-15 Hudler. He has an amazing attitude and both Johnny and Monahan benefitted greatly from his presence. It will be sad to see him go.

Just debates about why they should/shouldn't keep Russell. You gotta listen to it, it gets pretty intense:

Loubardias needs anger management. This is not the first time he's lost his cool on air. Very childish and unprofessional. Wouldn't be surprised if they suspend him for a few days.

The station loves passionate conflict. There is no way they suspend Lou. As always it is all part of the shtick

I might have to eat crow on my Ortio comments if he keeps it up. It will be tasty nonetheless.

I just listened:

Loubo:
-I've watched Russell since he's 16
-Charts/numbers/stats are BS
-Russell's advanced stats are all because his teammates suck
-Hartley and co are super-smart and know a lot more than numbers and they say Russell is great therefore Russell is great

Steinberg:
Russell's a 3rd pair Dman not a #3Dman

Loubo
-He's a VERY GOOD 2nd pair dman

Steinberg:
-Can you win a stanley cup with him on 2nd pair?

Loubo
-No, but Russell takes a lot of undeserved criticism because he's really good
-I know why "those people" / "your numbers" believe what they believe

Steinberg
-You're screaming at me

Loubo
-I'm not screaming at you. People look at numbers and don't know the game. I know the game. People who look at numbers don't know the game. When you (Pat) like a guy I can find 9/10 times why you like that player on a chart.

Steinberg
-That's a bad way of painting it, fans watch the game too, just because they do use charts that doesn't mean they watch less than you do

Loubo
- You're being the peoples' champion and telling people on the radio that I've got no respect for people. You don't think I respect the fans?

Steinberg:
Sorry?

Loubo:
I have respect for everyone. But I'm in the know, and I have experience and I'm going to defend what I believe in. I don't disrespect numbers but we're going to disagree on the value of players. End of story. I take Russell on my team any time any day.

TLDR;
Numbers don't tell you anything, Kris Russell is amazing, Hartley is a Genius, I am smarter than anybody who looks at numbers because I can tell who cares.

I can't stand Loubardias. He has no idea what he's talking about most of the time

I love Lou, but he's a good player because he cares isn't good enough. Kris Russell is a good player because I know hockey isn't good enough. Kris Russell is good because I've seen him since he was 16 isn't good enough.

Maybe if he could coherently tell me why Russell is good I'd buy his argument, but he didn't give a single reason.

And I'm a giant Lou fan. I'll watch/listen to anything he's in because he does know a lot about hockey and his passion is both admirable and contagious. But he's emotional here and wrong. Not necessarily about Russell (that's subjective), but about "charts". I watch probably more hockey than the vast, vast majority of people. I also like to look deeper into things. It's what I do for a living, so I enjoy applying the same analysis here. Why is it that if you enjoy looking deeper it means you don't watch the game? Seems a little unfair

Yes sir, I am. They only way I access CP is on my mobile telephone.

Also my girl friend is gone for another week for work and I have resorted to my bachelor ways with alcohols to pass the time

Also what I meant was the Flames are not going to finish low enough in the standings to have that many balls in the lottery to grab Matthews. The percentage of chance is just not with them.

Was that real? Loubardias took it far too personally.

Also though, these guys have to hold back as to things they know they can't talk about on air.

My elderly mother bumped into Lou at a Dawgs baseball last summer and said he was really cute. Lou turned about 10 shades of red.
