Hudler will fetch way less because he's smaller, weaker and less physical. Ladd can fight through the tighter checking in the playoffs much easier than Hudler. Ladd hitting your defense over a 7 game series is going to wear them down more than Hudler not hitting would.

Well I think we all know that being a smaller guy in the NHL doesn't mean you're a bad player. And not that I'm comparing Hudler to Gaudreau but players will adapt to their own size and playing style.
It's kinda like questioning NYRs trade for St. Louis a few years back. Not a big player but was a veteran with playoff experience and the scoring touch.
Also Boedker and Vrabata aren't hitters either so I think the value remains less than Ladds but still higher than people will think.
