Default Downtown Parking

Sorry, but I was laid off a few months ago, and trying to save money. I wanted to know when the city starts charging for downtown parking during the day (hour). I know after 6 PM, it's mainly free parking. The Calgary Parking website is hard to navigate. I want to workout at the Eau Claire YMCA at about 730. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How far away from Eau Claire do you live? Perhaps to save money is to jog/bike to Eau Claire and back. Those stairs across Prince's Island bridge are also there for your use anytime. This way you don't have to pay for parking or a gym membership and you get to do it all outside.

Maybe use Google Streetview to see what streets have certain restrictions? I'd check the other side of Memorial for streets that have 1 hour free parking. If it says 1 hour parking 9:00 to 17:00, you can park there at 16:01 and stay all night.

Almost everything in downtown becomes free after 6pm. Most parkades are also cheap after 4pm ($2 or $3) if you'd like to park off the street.

EDIT: I now see you are looking for in the morning, not at night - I have no idea about the morning

I worked out there in the morning for a few months. There is good availability along the street if you get there by 6am, 730am might leave you circling.

Also could park in Kensington and walk across the river and walk.

Pretty much every zone I've seen downtown are free until 9am. As Ken said you can actually use google street view to zoom in on the parking signs though.

Thanks. That is exactly what I ended up doing. Free parking until 9:00 AM

You are looking for morning parking? I read that wrong; parking is free after 6 pm- I thought "wanting to go about 7:30" also meant PM.

About a mile and a bit from Eau Claire but it is free unzoned parking directly across from Stampede Park on Park Road SE (south of Elbow River Casino).
