Yah, I'm not sure why there is such a stigma on watching movies alone. It's not like you need the company to enjoy the movie. You're not even interacting with anyone else while watching the movie.

Pancakes with salt instead of syrup.

Depends how you view 'going to the movies' as...a social event or a just a movie.

I view it as more of a social event because part of it is sharing your thoughts about the movie after it's over.

Then when you hang out next you can talk about it without turning into that Key and Peele Spoiler Alert episode haha

I watch a lot of movies alone as my wife doesn't like horror movies and I do.

When the wife is out of town, I'll often go for pub breakfasts by myself. I actually decline when people ask if I want company.

I've only ever been to a movie by myself once and I would go again. Nobody ate my popcorn or talked to me. It was great. I may go see Deadpool sometime soon.

I went a few times in university when I worked at Chinook and had time to kill between my last class and work. It's the exact same experience as going with someone as long as you go with a normal human being that doesn't talk during the movie.

Cranberry juice. The original version that wasn't cut with copious amounts of sugar and various other juices.

Same with grapefruit juice, seems to be a way lot sweeter than I remembered.

Going to the movies alone, especially during the afternoon showings, is the best. I used to work as a waiter and often didn't work until the evening so I would go in the afternoons. It's nice and quiet with basically no lineups for anything. Highly recommended.

Back in my single days when I just moved to Calgary I loved going to the pub by myself. I really enjoyed pulling a chair up at the bar and having a couple beers. My friends thought I was a lunatic.

Back as a poor university student I used to love walking 45 minutes from my place to Kensington to watch a $2 movie at the Plaza by myself. Friends just don't understand...

I've totally been like this since moving back. The gf works evenings a lot, and I live in the Richmond area, whereas the few people I managed to keep in touch with the decade I was gone are in Bridlewood, McKenzie Towne & Chapparal Valley respectively. They ain't coming all the way to me to sit in my dingy neighbourhood pub on a Tuesday night, and I don't blame them (and vice versa). I love pulling up a stool at the bar, having a pint or two, crushing some Flames game deal wings and catching a period or two, can't believe how many people I've met that way lately either.

The bar stigma is kinda funny: if you sit at a table in the corner of the pub by yourself, you're an anti-social weirdo. But pull up a seat at the bar and it's normal.

Definitely. I didn't have cable back then so I would hop over to the bar across the street on game nights and it was great! Actually made a few good friends that I still see pretty regularly 8 years later.

Darren Dreger. He's second only to Mckenzie when it comes to guys I trust and listen to regarding NHL rumours and info. As long as Healy and his SN brethren are still employed I laugh when people call Dreger a shill and a hack.
