Nickelback. Everyone seems to hate on them, but I love their music.

I don't love or hate their music. I enjoy a few of their songs and find them easy to listen to. I don't really understand the vitriol that some people have for them.

I liked that Big Rockstar song they had. Probably because it broke their usual mold of what I consider to be everything that was wrong with rock music in the 00's

Garry Betman.

I like the guy. His over the top smugness, and the fact that he takes pride in being the bad guy for some reason makes me like him. I can't get enough of him and his arrogance.

I'm a guy and I'll admit I like watching romcoms, but only if I like the actors/actresses in it. If it stars someone I don't like (ie. Dane Cook or Sarah Jessica Parker), I won't enjoy it, even if it has a crazy good storyline.

If it's a movie I'm really psyched about or have been wanting to see for ages, I will always go alone. Don't want it wrecked by someone yapping in my ear.

My wife doesn't like Star Wars, and isn't interested in Deadpool. I don't go to the movies often, but I have no problem going alone *if* it's a movie I truly want to see.

You're in a big dark room anyway, what difference does it make if you know the person sitting next to you who's not interacting with you, or if the person sitting next to you who's not interacting with you is a stranger?

Travelling alone…I enjoy doing my own thing and operating on my own schedule. I can’t even say that I’d be interested in meeting other solo travellers. Now that I’m married, I usually travel with my wife, but we generally have the same outlook on travel. She’s Japanese, so we go to Japan once a year. I’ll usually go a week early to do my own thing, and maybe meet up with some friends. She likes my friends just fine, but she has no desire to travel within Japan to the same places to see them, so I go alone.

I bet if you asked around, about half of people would say they've never been to a movie alone. I mentioned to a co-worker once that I go to movies alone and she thought I was a lunatic. I prefer to go to movies by myself, but there are rarely more than handful of solos at any given movie.

Man-buns.

The sound and smell of steel scraping against rock
(Think of an excavator rip-rapping a culvert outlet)

Ok I know most people don't outright hate the above, but when I bring it up I get really weird looks...

Christopher Eccleston.

The smell of farts, my own or anyone else's, and changing poopy diapers.

Pop sweetened with stevia.

I can understand the stigma of say, going to a movie alone on a Friday or Saturday night, but even then, who is really bothered? Hell, I saw Star Wars 'alone' because the best seats left were all individual ones so we all would rather have a good view individually than a crappy one together. Whoever is paying that much attention to the other people in the theatre are spending too much time thinking about others.

But I've gotten the same reactions when I tell people I went to a movie in the afternoon on a weekday.

"What you do today?"
"Saw a movie"
"Oh cool, with who?"
"Just by myself."
*they take a step back, look for the exits*

Clearly people who have never done it. Get to show up and leave when you want, get both armrests, more foot room. It's the best way to watch movies. Sometimes there might not even be half a dozen others in the place, it's just great.
