Someone mentioned to me the other night that he's dealing with some mild vertigo symptoms again. Have we heard anything to this effect?

He posted a .918 s%. That's pretty darn good for an NHL goalie. He stole us games. He played well enough to give the team a chance to win. He instilled confidence in the team.
Other then the SJ game and his shutout game, he has done none of the above. He's a completely different player this season. I haven't seen a player drop off this bad in a long time.
Of course, it has to be OUR guy

I believe that poster thought it may be an issue. I haven't heard from anyone that he's had symptoms. He's fine and simply having a terrible season.

If he has even mild vertigo symptoms, he should not be starting. I can't imagine that Hartley would start a goalie who was battling vertigo.

He stole multiple games, especially early in the season, they made the playoffs by one win
this year has been terrible though obviously

Vertigo has nothing to do with him being on his knees as soon as the puck enters the attacking zone. He was a mediocre goalie prone to letting in bad goals at his pinnacle. He's now lost a step due to age and it's turned him in to a clown show. This guy will never play another NHL season.
Anaheim let him go because they had determined they could not get to te Cup with inconsistency between the pipes, and that was before he'd lost a step.

No, .918 is pretty damn average for an NHL goalie. He played ok but not the reason we made the playoffs.

If Treliving got a bag of sawdust for him in the next eight days I'd be impressed.

quality of shots against was and is pretty high for the Flames...guy absolutely stole games last season...remember the Chicago game?? Without him they don't make it
Its not like guys were lining up to play goal for the Flames that summer...it was a good signing at the time but its time to move on

Right now? He's pretty bad, and we're giving up some grade A opportunities, a recipe for disaster.
Perfect goalie for a late season unintentional tank though. Although I think Hartley will give Ortio a shot pretty quick if Hiller doesn't turn his game around. Ortio may start next game.

I'll admit the guy did steal us a couple game last year, but he also cost us some too. Just averaged out to...well...average. But that's always been his mantra...too inconsistent to be counted on.
And this year he's just a tire fire. I feel like the playoff series in Anaheim exposed him last year and now everyone has the book on him. Shoot high and score.

Apparently not bad enough for Hartley to start Ortio.

He must really have no faith at all in Ortio with how bad Hiller has played.
