Hiller will never stand for that. Never!
He won't take that kind of abuse kneeling down.

Stats lose their context a great deal when one goalie's played 5 games and the other 20, and the team was already way up goaltending #### creek whenever Ortio was called upon. I'd give him the edge over Hiller here.

The difference between the two is meaningless anyway. You're talking about two goalies who are giving you on average less than .890 save percentage. That's a guaranteed loss every night as we've seen since Ramo went down. When he was announced as being out long-term, I've felt confident about a top 5 pick. You cannot win a game with these two.

If you want a bigger sample size, Ortio's AHL stats (20 games) are worse than Hiller's NHL stats.

Does anyone honestly believe that hiller gives this team the best chance to win? Even more than Ortio? It's my like hiller will even be in the NHL next year or like he has any trade value. The team does not play confidently in front of him and they shouldn't with the way hiller has played. I see absolutely no good reason for hiller to continue to get start after start despite playing so badly. At least having Ortio in would give the organization a chance to assess where he's at.

Did t Gio make a glove save the other night? I'd rank him above Hiller on the goalie list.

This team with a Rinne or a Rask would be pretty damn good, not just because of the goaltending itself, but the confidence it would instill in the team. When you know you're going to have to put up 4 at least just to have a chance cause your tender is gonna let in 2 or 3 floppers the team is gonna play nervous behind their blue line. We know what this team looks like when they believe. Outside of December when all areas were clicking I'm not sure the belief has been nearly as strong this season.

Uh, Rinne is having a horribad year himself. He's a .898 over his last 39 games. Behind the actual best defense in the league.

Hiller was a huge part of getting the team into the second round last year. I know he stinks this year, but let's not ignore his play from last year.

Aware of that. However, when you look at the others' rationales:
1. Ramo - obvious.
2. Berra - was actually athletically sound in net. Reminded me of Kipper at times. Managed to win 9 of 26 games on a really terrible 2014 team.
3. MacDonald - leader and role model for Ramo in that tough 2014 year.
4. Ortio - Promising. Went 5-1-1 last year, sucks this year apparently based off two games.
5. Hiller - Was decent last year. Won most of his games on a lucky team, and then lost the starting job in the playoffs. Then he carried that over to this year, where he's been the worst goalie in the NHL and is having one of the worst seasons by a goalie this decade.

That second goal was atrocious on Hiller's part. Really annoyed at the brutal giveaways that led to both goals as well. Whole team is brutal.
