Komarov just threw a nasty blindside elbow to McDonagh's head. 5 minute major.

McDonagh just came back from a concussion too, but for some reason isn't going to the quiet room? Makes no sense, especially given how bad he looks on the bench.

Ovi continues to roll. 2 goals so far in the game, 37 on the year.

Apparently the Caps have tied an NHL record with 41 wins in 55 games.

The Penguins led 2-1 after twenty minutes and now lead 4-2 after two periods. Hornqvist with two assists.

It is 2-0 Predators in the first intermission. Forsberg and Riebero have two points each.

Pretty quiet game between the Panthers and Sharks.

However, Patrick Marleau just committed a brutal head snap as Kulikov's stick tapped him in the midsection with the puck in mid-air. Official was behind the play and called a high sticking penalty. Brutal, brutal embellishment by Marleau. Denis Potvin on the Panthers' broadcast really giving it to Marleau for the dishonorable play.

Maurice gets kicked out of the Winnipeg game at the beginning of the third period. Cameras show the refs laughing...

Thinking Maurice is gone after this season...early playoff exit last year, horrible showing this time around.

It's clear they're mediocre, but I don't think they should be this bad.

^^^^ Totally. After the big Kane/Myers trade I thought the Jets would actually be legitimate contenders for the playoffs this season.

Ladd scores a hilarious goal, tried for a one hand drag but goes crashing into the goalie. The puck slides over to the Tampa defenceman who fumbles it into his own net.

It was a consistent pattern in this game as the Penguins out scored the Red Wings 2-1 in every period, final score is 6-3.

Wild game in Edmonton as it is 2-2 after one period.

The Predators continue to lead 2-0, now after two periods.

The Blues lead 1-0 after two periods, Fabbri with a power play goal in the first period.

Very hard nosed battle between the Panthers and Sharks tonight. Neither team gave an inch defensively. Shots are 18-15 for the Panthers and the score is 1-1 in overtime. Crazy thing was the shots in the 3rd were 3-1 for the Panthers and each team scored their goal in that period. I repeat. The Sharks scored a goal in the 3rd on their only shot on goal.

Both Jones and Montoya have been really good when called upon, especially Jones who stopped several odd-man chances.

Also, Jagr scored goal #740 tonight to move within one goal of tying Brett Hull for 3rd all time.

This game has the feel of a playoff game. Pretty fun despite the low score and low shots.

If you're hoping the Flames finish as low as possible at this point, a Jets comeback win would be pretty huge as we're tied at the moment.
