Looks like he's entering his annual beast mode to end the season.

Where would Iggy rank among the players who have never won a cup?

Yep - he may hit 30 goals yet, or pretty close to it!

No doubt.

He's been written off by some for how many seasons now?

Jarome Iginla owns.

Quite a list of players. I loved Jean Ratelle. Not sure where Iginla fits here after Dionne. Guys like Lafontaine,, Stastny, Perreault were greats. Hawerchuk too.

Lafontaine's career was cut short, so he gets an asterix, but with all due respect to the others you've listed they're not fit to hold Iggy's jockstrap, IMO.

That is pretty homerish. Iginla is pretty comparable to guys like Roenick, Sundin, Perreault etc.

There was NEVER a window, of any size, where any of those players were considered by anyone to be the best player in the game.

Iginla is better than those players listed...nothing Homer about it.

Dionne, Lindros, Bure...maybe Oates...I don't see how an argument can be made for any of those other players from the bigger list being better than Iggy.

I'm not saying these 4 are better, but it makes sense that an argument could be made.

Homerish as a fan of hockey.
Given the era he played in and the 2 lockouts, Iginla is on a higher level.

I seem to remember Hawerchuk being considered 3rd best player in the league for a period, after Gretzky and Lemieux. Not saying Iginla wouldn't be considered better but there are some great players on that list.

I think Dionne is the only one who would be clearly considered to have a better career.

If you go by the best player in the league at any point argument, then Lindros, Bure are in the conversation.

Ovechkin on the list for now too.

Bure and Lindros didn't have that all important longevity that Iggy has.

Connor McDavid is obviously the greatest player to never win a cup.

Only one guy had more points in the 80's than Peter Stastny. He's a guy not enough people bring up when the greats are talked about.

Agreed.

If I were to pick any of those players at their absolute best, for one season, I'd only choose Lindros ahead of Iginla.
