That's why I want him to win the republican nomination.
Won't matter who the Dems run, they'll beat him easily.
I can't see any republican winning over either democratic but I would rather the gong show that it Trump over having to listen to Cruz for 6 more months.
Cruz should be selling used cars to 16 year olds not running for president.

Having a lunatic be the nominee for a party isn't a good thing even if you don't like that party. I'd like someone with a decent head on their shoulders as the opposition for two reasons. One, the Democrats aren't completely and unquestionably right about absolutely everything and someone needs to hold them accountable in a national campaign. Two, there's the slight, ever so tiny, really concerning chance that the Republican candidate actually wins.
Go Kasich?

Barrack Obama would crush this entire field in his spare time if he were running again
Forget Obama, what about if Bill could run again? It'd be a bloodbath.

You are, like most, severely underselling Trump's chances to win. Remember he's virtually guaranteed to win all the same States Romney did, those States didn't all of a sudden become places Hillary or Bernie can win, they're still GOP heavy states that will pretty much choose anyone over a Clinton or Socialist that will be painted as a Communist.
Then you look at polling, and Trump is doing very well in Michigan and Ohio in hypotheticals against Hillary and Bernie, and is close or ahead in Florida. Flip just those States and he wins the election. It's not really a tiny, concerning chance. It's at least a 35% chance if he's the nominee, and probably higher than that.

I couldn't give a crap about the faith of any of these politicians (though the Pope is right in questioning how supposed Christians can do the opposite of what their religion endorses) but Trump is the most hypocritical dickhead -
In 2011 - ""He doesn't have a birth certificate. He may have one, but there's something on that, maybe religion, maybe it says he is a Muslim."
In Dec 2015 - "Just remember this – you gotta remember, in all fairness, to the best of my knowledge, not too many evangelicals come out of Cuba, OK?”
Just last goddamn week - ""How can Ted Cruz be an Evangelical Christian when he lies so much and is so dishonest?"

And I think you're underselling how badly Trump would get eviscerated in a national race. This isn't the clown show Republican primary. Everything from his past and present will be thrown out there. His antics won't fly in a legit presidential debate, I have a feeling he'd cry so much about being treated unfairly he'd end up dropping out of the race, taking his ball, and going home.
Never underestimate the ability of the American people to fall for a populist candidate. Trump could very possibly win a national election, and that's what scares me.

Yeah, I feel like once he's the nominee, people will stop treating him like a joke. Because they still are, on the left. It's basically point and laugh at the circus that is the GOP nomination race, isn't it absurd. Once he's the guy, the real guns come out, and the media will absolutely demolish him. 24 hours a day, seven days a week of just pure searing criticism. He'll have no cover.

And when I say this thing, he is going to be the next President of the United States. It feels all like a crazy reality show. Imagine that little wimp Trudeau telling Trump to stay away from our fresh water, while telling him we can deal with Put in without your help. LOL! We have Canada goose jackets you know, which are quite warm.
Hypothetical match up polling for the general election isn't reliable at this point in time so saying he's close or leading in this state or that state really doesn't mean much. Remember, he has had zero luck increasing his polling within his own party where over 50% of party members do not want to see him as their nominee. He has a farily firm 30-35% of the GOP vote, however, the interesting thing is that for the most part many caucus voters are undecided up to a day or two before the vote and he's not winning of those undecideds. Basically, the undecided voters are only undecided on who they will vote for instead of Trump.
If he wins the nomination it will be a very unmotivated GOP base and even hatred of Hillary isn't going to stir them. They will be busily looking inward at the way the party is working and not concentrating on helping Trump one bit.
Meanwhile, Trump will lose the women vote and any minority vote by a large margin. He'll also lose the independent vote. He's despised by these groups not simply "unknown" to them. If he gets the nomination it'll be ad after ad of racist quotes, misogynist quotes, and quotes that he has ZERO clue how the world and the nation actually works.
How could anyone watch this video and think, "Yeah, Hillary would make a great president!"
Her campaign is funded by Wallstreet, no different that Obama's. Look where that has gotten us. More debt, huge financial bubble, larger gap between the rich and the poor. Just terrible.

Keep dreaming. All the Trump haters are in for a big surprise come November.
