I can't believe people are still writing dissertations on how terrible this show is. I'm not sure I understand how that's possible into the 6th season of a show that has been pretty much what it is over all 6 seasons.

Honestly I think there's more complaining about complaining about the show in this thread than there is complaining about the show.

One thing I did find annoying is they actually ignored their cliffhanger. At the end of the last episode they had the kid saying 'Mom...mom!' just as they were leaving the house. Then at the start of this episode nothing is happening, he is staying quiet and doesn't have his little meltdown til halfway through.

This has a comic book spoiler in it, in that a panel from the comics that hasn't happened yet is actually reproduced in it.
Just sayin'.

No it doesn't actually. And people need to stop pointing out that they have found a spoiler where a spoiler doesn't exist.
This just happened in the GoT as well, completely harmless information for a show watcher that someone has to point to and go OMFG THAT IS A SPOILER, IT IS A GIANT SPOILER!! Why is it a spoiler? Well because --- oh... wait... ya I guess it only is if I explain it.
Full stop.

I'm assuming you're referencing my recent post in the GoT thread, although I'm not computing the hyperbole.
Some people do not, in any way, want even something as minuscule as this to spoil the experience. I appreciate when someone tells me to avoid a certain source to avoid spoilers because I have had some major aspects of shows spoiled for me and it SUCKS! In many cases I've heeded warnings to ensure I don't have it ruined for me, and when I go back in retrospect I'm very glad I did.
I try to give the same courtesy because I can empathize. I also try to choose my words carefully so as to be a caution, but not a spoil.
The "Honest Trailers" series don't really 'do it' for me anyway, but I will avoid watching it just in case.

It shows a character who hasn't appeared yet (so at minimum you know what they're supposed to look like before they show up) doing something they haven't done yet, and which will be important. The fact that it is presented without any context is immaterial. It's still beyond what people want talked about in here, as Yamer demonstrates. Hence my warning.

The show's main issue is it's inconsistency from director to director. Some are done well and some not so much. Michael Bay movies obviously appeal to some people hence the box office success of the Transformer movies so I'm not surprised that a lot of people liked the last episode as it had rocket launchers, explosions, fire, zombie hacking carnage, nonsensical deaths to characters that a season was wasted on, main characters miraculously cheating death. I totally understand this appeals to a lot of people so I'm not going to call anyone out on it but I would prefer a slightly slower episode with some quality story over the blockbuster move excess feel of this one.

Thats part of watching TV now. They get you invested in characters and then they kill them. Thats part of the deal. It isnt a waste, it wasnt like they fell down an elevator shaft accidentally or anything.

It's not the same as say Game of Thrones or Vikings where main characters can be shown the door at any time without warning. Sure plenty of main characters have been killed on Walking Dead but it's typically a slow burn to their death. This last episode was a prime example where the entire Anderson family gets killed off meanwhile the rest of the crew don't get a scratch from a zombie. Carl miraculously has his eye shot out yet no brain or skull damage and we are again trolled with Glenn using another of his 9 lives to escape another seemingly imminent death. This show has done things better in past episodes/seasons but this one was one of the more sloppier episodes to date.

Who is more invincible: Glenn (repeatedly mauled by z-mobs without a scratch to show), Carl (immune to gunshot wounds) or Darryl (audience popularity armor)?

I don't read the books but I imagine Glenn's time is coming if only because they obviously trolled us this last episode in that near death scene.

I think you have to look at it with more of a 'Macro' perspective.
The Walking Dead is interesting because there is no real 'Ultimate Objective' other than 'being safe.' They want a safe, sustainable place to live. To do this they have to kill zombies.
And thats pretty much it.
So enjoy your favourite characters killing zombies.

Nail biter!
I feel like they shed the majority of the more boring, dead weight characters in the first 15 minutes!

I don't know if I'd actually like the show without certain characters, and Abraham is one of them. I just love that character. He's awesome. Glenn could die for all I care, and I think he's bound to die soon enough. I'd prefer it if Darryl stayed alive too. Other than that I'm pretty ambivalent to which character lives and dies.

I'm the same way, except for me it's Eugene I want to keep alive.

Greg Nicotero (sp?) explained that in the Talking Dead. He wasn't shot through the eye. The bullet hit the edge of his eye socket and ricocheted away sending bone splinters into his eye and popping it for all intents and purposes.
