I can't, they are currently part of a development application with the City of Edmonton, and are highly secret.

What I don't understand is if Edmonton is really serious about building this behemoth, why not go for the big prize and build an extra 20m up to take the title from First Canadian Place in Toronto? It'd be nice to see the title go to something that doesn't reak of 1960s-70s utilitarian design.

Though, downtown Edmonton would look quite weird with 1 massive building, and then a couple smaller ones. The thing I love about downtown Calgary is that when you're driving in from Red Deer there is width to downtown. Creates a cool view with the mountains in the west.

For what it's worth though, I'd much prefer live in a city full of 3-4 storey buildings then in a city with hundreds of thousands of houses, and a small downtown with a handful of super tall buildings.

There was a one-story slide in one of the Wreck City houses.

There's a lot of rumors that cenovus is trying to find a way out of this lease...has anyone heard about this?

Yeah, I heard they want out to fill Brookfield Place.

The rumor is they want out of Brookfield Place, not The Bow.
Technically I'm sure they'd want out of both, in The Bow for another 20 years and god knows how long in Brookfield Place, probably a minimum 15 years. Out of both and they'd be free to take half the space elsewhere at a third or less of the cost.

I had always heard 2016, then last week in the paper I read 2017. Maybe the 2017 was for both towers, because the first one looks pretty far along at this point, with a whole spring/summer construction season ahead.

Has anyone heard an updated timeline for Telus Sky? I can't wait to see that one start taking shape in our skyline.

Brookfield Place I'd guess may be complete by late late 2016, still lots to do interior wise once it's topped out. Eight floors to go and the crown for it to be at full height. The west tower will not go ahead anytime soon.

Telus Sky continues to plug away, it is now beginning its journey up from the bottom of the deep pit.

Very very very slim, Westbank is behind Telus Sky and is no doubt looking longer term than the next few years.

Calgary has a new tallest building:

http://calgaryherald.com/business/co...llest-building

Brookfield Place has officially surpassed the Bow in height, earning the title of Western Canada’s tallest building.

Calgary’s new skyscraper — under construction downtown between 1st and 2nd streets and 6th and 7th avenues S.W. — is now complete to level 56, the top of the building. It has reached its final height of 247 metres — 10 metres taller than the Bow, previously the tallest structure on the Calgary skyline.

Is the crown being built on top of the current steel frame or is it already basically topped out? Cause if it's already topped out than that is seriously disappointing since you can't even notice the height difference and we won't be getting any new challengers for decades.

Edit: Just read the article. weak.

It is only 30 feet taller. On a building that is 800 feet high, 30 feet should be pretty much indistinguishable.

From most views it will be very hard to tell that Brookfield is taller than the Bow. However I won't complain about us finally breaking the 800' mark on a skyscraper.

The top of the crown will be about 1 storey higher than the top of the concrete right now:
