At least he called his boss the morning of... 3 Flames just chose to stumble in when they felt like it.
Not saying our 3 are worse than Kane. All I'm saying is 3 of our guys did the exact same thing but didn't even call their boss. Just showed up to the worksite late..
Kane's past makes tge optics appear much worse but.. he did the exact thing as our guys.

The history of Kane is ######baggy, but he did the exact thing as our guys.

You know for sure that "our guys" didn't call their boss? You have no clue what happened exactly - none of us do - and Bob made a point of not giving at details whatsoever.

Fair.. You're right I don't know if they called. By Buffalo's statement, I know Kane called. At least when he woke he realised he effed up and called in.
That was a side piont to my post, however.
Just as OOC said, don't throw stones in a glass house.

It's totally different though, Kane has been part of controversy, he's been around the NHL a lot longer to understand what's professional and what things should not be done. Add on the fact that he probably heard about our 3 guys showing up late and "breaking a team rule". Because of that he should be more respectful. Just because someone else did it once it affords you to be able to do it once.

I don't think the glass house is applicable here.
The 3 Flames players are generally accepted to have good attitudes and be team players. Kane is renowned for his bad attitude and poor decision making.
Both the Flames players and Kane made mistakes. For Kane though, it's not surprising to say the least.

Except this isn't the first incident with Kane. If Monahan and Gaudreau had a history of doing this it would be a different story. Evander Kane is a clown.

The difference is we know Kane doesn't learn from his mistakes. You can't even call them mistakes at this point, it's just who he is.

Lol, its different? I don't think so bubs..
You're insulting Johnny, Money and Lance by essentially saying they they didn't know how to act professional or didn't realize they weren't conducting themselves accordingly due to not following in someone's footsteps?
Well, OV " over slept" this year too..
If you hate Kane, that's fine and I'm not saying you do. But some people dislike him to the point they want to villainise the kid. Forgetting the part of he's a young adult who is enjoying himself and clearly not putting the team first in his life.
Well our guys did the same and I still think they're awesome.
This doesn't define Evander Kane. He's a kid. Not a piece of garbage.

Evander Kane isn't a kid anymore. He's a 24 year old man in his 7th year in the NHL. He needs to grow up.

24 is still very much a kid... There aren't many 24 year olds out there that actually have their shi* together.
How do you feel about Johnny, Money and Lance? Gaudreau is 22 and is about to complete his degree. He did the same thing.
Are you saying Gaudreau needs to grow the hell up too?
Bouma 25. What you say?
They're young guys and very much kids still who play a game for a living..
Take it easy.. They'll be just fine in life, I'm sure.
Kane has also likely contributed more to society in volunteer hours, charitable donations and much more than many of us ever will in life..
So who's head is really backwards and needs to grow the hell up?

Jesus christ. I mean, I know fans of teams are going to be a tad naturally short-sighted when it comes to their own players but really, you guys have taken the big, fat, juicy jam & cream sponge cake and eaten it in record time.
Johnny gets off the hook because, what, he's a star player? Monny lives with Boums so it's not his fault if he comes in late, right? I mean if Boums is coming in late and they car share then it's surely not our precious little Moneyhands' fault, right?
Ovi did the same. Jonathan Gaudreau did the same. Sean Monahan did the same. Lance Bouma did the same.
Honestly, I wouldn't even give Gaudreau an extension next year, I've heard his attitude is absolutely terrible. Late for practices?! Jeez! We shouldn't be having that attitude any where near our precious team!

This article sums up my thoughts on Kane.

It always seems that on the ice he is about to "break through".

I'm curious as to why? What will happen? Most posters here seemed disappointed in Bouma, Monahan, and Gaudreau so I'm not sure the idiom even fits in this case.

The difference in these situations at the moment can be summed up very easily:
- Gaudreau, Monahan, Bouma - no previous patter of bad behaviour (that we know of)
- Kane - continuously in the media for making selfish decisions, in fact we are led to believe he was traded because of said behaviour and was hated by his former team mates because of it.
Right now, just like with Ovy, we have the ability to say Gaudreau, Monahan and Bouma made a single error in judgement due to to their age. For Kane, we have a pattern of behaviour and someone who doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes.
It's true that maybe we will see more of these types of mistakes from Gaudreau and Monahan, and IF that happens and the Flames fans on here don't hold them to the same standard as they do Kane, the "glass houses" comments are valid. But until that happens, the situations and reactions to Kane are not to be compared.
