Battle of the back up goalies as Peter Budaj is in net for the Kings and Raanta for the Rangers. It was 2-1 Kings after one period and after two periods it is 3-3. The Kings had a 2-0 lead and then the Rangers scored three unanswered goals. Kopitar with two goals and Lucic with two assists.

The Habs-Sabres game had a crazy second period. It 2-1 Buffalo after one period. Both teams scored six goals in the second period and it is now 5-4 after forty minutes.

Varlamov steals a win for the Avalanche as Red Wings out shot the Avalanche 45-21. Colorado won 3-2 in the shootout. Detroit had to penalty kill for the final 92 seconds of overtime.

'Best goal of the year' never happens in juniors, period. It's not hard for a supremely talented kid to score one like that against 17/18 year old kids. Those goofball unnecessary between the legs dekes work 1/100 times against pros in the NHL.
