These numbers don't even come close to adding up to 100%

Electricity and energy are both mentioned, but looks like you're correct (I get 111%). I just cut and paste, so don't know where the issue would be since all electricity numbers look reasonable.

Had a real quick Wiki and it says 67% fossil (41% coal, 21% gas, 5.5% oil), 13% nuclear, 16% hydro, renewable 4%.

You can feel a really angry vibe right now in this province.

I don't think that there's a belief that any help is going to come from any level of government or any statements of support outside of our mayor

(ok, I admit it he's gained a few points with me)

When our federal resource minister stated that he wasn't going to promote pipelines in the states, recently it just felt like piling on.

I mean it won't make a difference, this province doesn't have enough of a vote swing federally do do anything.

But even talking to a few people that I mix with day to day, on a business, and on a personal level, there is a feeling of betrayal and a belief that the bigger screwing is on the way.

Agreed. There is a very real sense of being left hung out to dry - by everyone. Other provinces (except Brad Wall's Saskatchewan) are turning their backs on us, the feds are all but doing the same thing, and Notley has no clue where she is in this political landscape. Even the Americans are turning their backs on us with their wishy washy attitude towards Keystone, even though there are countless pipelines that already exist. Meanwhile Eastern Canada is happy to import oil from questionable foreign sources.

If anyone has seen it, this feels like a real world example of the Revenant.

Nations have gone to war for coastline. We live in the country with the most coastline on the planet, yet we can't find a way to get our product onto ships.

Considering that BC has pretty much gone out of their way to try to basically do a stick up on the province and continues to screw us over.

They can kiss my a$$.

I'm really starting to be a fan of taxing the crap out of BC goods crossing and coming into the province.

"Hey Clark, we want our fair share"

And then Notley doing a mumbling agreement.

Come on, is Brad Wall going to have to defend our province for us again?

Really BC FU

Ya, they have taken a holier than thou attitude lately. Want to tell us what you've done with your hydro projects, mines, oh and oil and gas projects that is so much better environmentally than Alberta? See what would happen if your Asian investors suddenly went away and the pot industry dried up. Ya, really made your own way there, didn't ya, BC.

At least the media is finally paying attention to this story. Hopefully it has legs:
Quote:
That’s right. Saudia Arabia, the oil-rich kingdom that is waging a brutal price war to shore up its market share and devastating Canada’s oil and gas sector in the process, dumped an average of 84,017 barrels a day of its cheap oil in New Brunswick’s Irving Oil Ltd. refinery in 2015, according to data compiled by the National Energy Board (NEB). That’s up from 63,046 b/d on average in 2012.

Really think this is only going to get worse. Until those equalization payments dry up, and Quebec stops getting their extortion..er trasfer payment this is going to continue. I think Alberta is staring at their own fisheries collapse with the government helping it get there quicker. Just like how the Liberals banned fishing and killed a province 20 years ago, only to watch trawlers from Europe pull up and scoop their fish.

Yes "There will be Blood" but the rube with the milkshake is Canada. The man with the straw is Uncle Sam and his OPEC buddies.

Brian Jean should be happy. Given the way things are going Notley will be looking for work in a few years. These extreme times are calling for extreme measures and I think for all its worts WR party are the only ones to help.

Going to get really messy in the medium term. Another election, new leader, trade war, Canada going broke...then we can start again. See you in 2030?

I just don't get it. With the onset of social media, this is the first time that this country has truly had the opportunity to unify, yet they want to take a dump on us. 2008 may have been bad, but it hit all of us hard and we certainly weren't firing shots at Ontario.

They have the choice. End the cyclical bitterness now by coming out in support of your compatriots, or face the hatred of Albertans/Saskatchewaners when the outrageous BC housing bubble collapses or when Ontario and Quebec are rendered insolvent.

Can we just load up a couple of rail cars full of oil, ship them through quebec and BC and have them have an "accident" to show them how that is far more dangerous option?
