Not really a stupid post when it applies to the majority of players, save for a few exceptions??

Wideman had a great year as a 31 year old and is excess baggage this year.

It seem that being financially set for life and being over 32 is not a recipe for success in the NHL.

Not quite passive aggressive enough

Pretty well all would be in the HOF if they quit at 32.

Chara and Thomas did better after 32 but in Thomas case had made no $ at all before he was 32.

He's had a poor year and is a UFA after this season. Not sure why the Flames need him.

To help them reach the cap floor after they trade away every single player not on an ELC.

I always wanted him. If he can get his point shot through maybe he can replace Wideman. Give our pp some more options

You have to trade Wideman before you can replace Wideman.

Almost 10AM, wonder who picks him up? I am guessing he won't fall much lower than Vancouver due to Edler's injury. I still think he has some value based on his contract for a quick waiver pickup and then trade at deadline for a late pick.

He'd instantly be on the Oilers top pair. They absolutely should pick him up.

Maybe a team contacts the Kings to see if they are willing to swap a minor leaguer for him now.

Yeah, it's hard to move a contract these days without taking one back.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
My guess is some teams will investigate trading for Ehrhoff now and sending a contract back LA's way.
