Yikes, didn't get to see the game. Why did Hartley bench Nakladal?

Okay, he had a really bad game tonight, but other than tonight he's been nothing short of rock solid most of this year. This was just one of the few bad games he's had this year so far. Just relax a bit.

Other than tonight & a select few other games, he's been much better this year than he was most of last year.

On the bright side, I thought Dougie looked great tonight.

He is really coming around and has been great since mid November onward.

It's scary how good he looks like he's going to turn out.

It's funny because if you listen to Oiler and Canuck fans, all they talk about is his rough start like he's still playing that way. One of the biggest burry-your-head-in-the-sand topics with rival clubs at the moment. It's pretty comical.

Does anyone expect Hartley to say much of anything?

I am guessing he will say they broke team rules and this was their punishment. I doubt he adds anything more interesting.

It was far from pretty but I'll take it. Three important players were out of the line up. I hope they learned their lesson. Don't do again boys. lets learn from this and move forward. We need you to be on the top of your game. We cant move forward with out you. Lets grow as a team and build something special. Go Flames Go!

Ugly game!

I have no issues with the healthy scratches.

Hiller needs to be gone. First goal not his fault, the other two you expect an NHL goaltender to stop at least one of them if not both. That is generous!

Nakladal? Super stud or lost cause? How can we tell? Pasted to the bench! Not impressed with Hartley, not impressed at all with the team.

We played an AHL team regardless of healthy scratches and struggled.

As for Kadri, thats a suspension. Say what you will, If I do that I get arrested. Spend the night in prison. I dont see the big deal, but society does. Leaf lovers say its no big deal. IF Gio did that they would want 20 games!

Awful game.

Media says how bad the leafs are but they have no one, with healthy scratches we still should of dominated this game!

Good game Granlund! Hamilton too!

Mentioned this in the game thread, but I would love to trade for Jake Gardiner. This:

Brodie-Hamilton
Gio-Gardiner

Would be a huge upgrade for us, and with rolling our two Norris-calibre guys on separate pairings we'd have the kind of defensive depth of the 07 Ducks with Niedermayer and Pronger.

Or we could just go with

Gio-Brodie
Gardiner-Hamilton

Now that's a blueline that'd be a huge upgrade for us, the kind we need.

Calgary Flames @NHLFlames
"It was tough because you can't find 3 better young men ... They made a mistake, they paid for it." - Bob Hartley on the scratches

Kristen Odland @Kristen_Odland
Hartley on scratching Bouma, Gaudreau, and Monahan: "They didn't rob a bank. They broke a team rule. And that's the end of it."

Kristen Odland @Kristen_Odland
Hartley: "I know some people say, '(Those are our) top two scorers' ... but when you make a mistake, you have to be accountable."

Missed the game, so I read the box score. Wow Nakladal played 1:45?? Surely Hartley could have played him a little more than that. C'mon

Bad 3rd period but the boys got the 2 points. Bob sent a message , and for the first time in almost 6 weeks we won 2 in a row. Let's keep going boys!!!!
