I'm mostly with you on this. Just cause they make good money, doesn't mean they can't or even shouldn't do the things 20 somethings like to do, and doesn't mean they deserve to have their personal business plastered everywhere and judged.

That said, being in the public eye a little is part of reason they get paid what they do. Part of what creates their value is the publics demand for the skill set they provide and the public entertainment value. But you have to take the good with the bad in that too, just like in any job.

And something got reported publicly and people are drawing conclusions. If the fan base of this team wants to be miffed that one of its star players and one of its underperforming players so far this year appear to have made some choices that didn't allow them to maximize the value from a practice in a season where the team isn't getting result, I'd also say they are well within their rights to be upset, given many of them pay good money to watch these guys play. To learn that they aren't doing everything they can to ensure the quality of the product is as good as it can be is disappointing.

I'd be miffed if I went to a restaurant and got a #### meal and was told its cause the chef went out and partied for Super Bowl, how is this different?

Fascinating.

Maybe YOU shouldn't go by the article?

Considering the scratches tonight, I think it's only fair to use your own words...

You're wrong.

I suppose he must have got some inside information to break the news knowing the details. Is Bouma going to be traded? It's possible although it's going to be hard to find a taker for his contract and this incident probably isn't exactly a good selling point.

He didn't break any information. The spector article was posted before be started this thread. He was the first to see it, post about it, but decided to be vague.
