so since I made a major boneheaded pick I was wondering if we are allowed to trade/dump and pick up other players once the season starts?

5 waiver moves are allowed during the season so yes.

I think we also agreed that there could be no moves made in the first two weeks. Is that correct?

How will that work. Last place has first pick on waivers. Or can you all pick when you need to make a change. Sort of need to set some timelines. Can't wait to get started. Looking forward to this draft...

So if I waive a player I can then pick up the player of my choice (as long as he wasnt waived by another person) at anytime? How long does a player stay on waivers? Do you go to the end of the order after you pick?

Any player not on a team is available on waivers to be picked up. You simply drop one and then add the player. If two teams want the same player at the same time then the team lower in the standings gets the player.

OK Lets clear this up.

1) No waiver moves can be made in the first 2 weeks. That is before October 19th.
2) If you make a waiver move you must pick up a player in the same position of the dropped player.
3) Once you get a player via waivers you move to the back of the line for waiver priority.
4) You can make up to 3 waiver moves. I think 5 is too many for a 14 player team.
5) The first team to put a claim on a player gets him.
6) After the NHL trade deadline, there can be no more waiver activity.
7) No trades. Trading makes things complicated.

Initially I wanted none of this stuff, because it made things complicated. But if everyone wants it we can included it!

Personally, I feel that we should have only 1 or at the most 2 waiver moves each.

These are the rules that I am thinking. If you want to give your input please do so. But I think these rules are fair.

Ok but how does this work? Do teams have to claim him the same day or is the player on waivers for another team to say that they are interested for longer?

Ie say I request to pick up a player on Monday, does someone else have to put the claim in on the same day?

5 waiver moves might be a little much. 3 sounds good. Allows people to stay in the running even if they lose a guy or two to injury.

Good question.

How about we do it so that the first person to claim a player not a team gets him.

If you snooze you lose?

Huntsy's pick of Auld really caught me off guard. He was going to be my other goalie and to see him last until the pick right before me.... I needed a minute to figure what I was going to do.

I wanted Vanek. He was my next pick. That is a steal IMO at this point.
