Brodie leaves Canes game after blocking a shot
Leah Hextall @leahhextall
Official: Brodie will not return - lower body. #flames
VIDEO
He had one 32 second shift after blocking the shot then left the ice. Hopefully just precautionary

Hoping just a bruise, only other thing it could be is a broken bone.

The fact that he was able to take another shift suggests he might have avoided serious injury. Hopefully just a bad bruise. We can lose Wideman, but we can't absorb losing Brodie.
Hey Jakub, get yourself ready, you might be suiting up against Colombus.

Sigh. Why not. We're a bottom dweller this season anyway.

Yeah, hopefully precautionary and they're keeping him out since the Flames have this game in control.

Bad bruise in a 3-1 game. Likely shutting him down for the night.

Contrary to what Ball & Hrudey said, I'm fairly certain he took 2 shifts before finally calling it a night - the one they noted, and one before.
Hopefully that bodes well.
Edit: Two short shifts
confirmed by the shift chart (under Event Charts).

Things just going from bad to worse. Hopefully it's just a bruise and nothing else.

What good is that? He'd say the same thing if Brodie's arm was hanging by a thread.

Hopefully it's not bad but losing him for any length of time would a massive blow. We'd be pretty hooped having just lost Wideman too.
Will be an anxious wait in the morning to see how this turns out.

Doubt it. We've heard iterations of "it doesn't look good" or "long term" from other injuries.
Or even how its pending further medical tests or results.

I know it's a big part of the game these days but I wish the league would get rid of shot blocking.
