From 2004-2007 Roger won 3-2-3-3 slams, in 3 of those years only being prevented by Rafa from also taking the French. Rafa had outbursts in 2010 and 2013, with a whole bunch of French wins during other years to keep the tally running.
Nole dominated 2011 and 2015 with 3 slams each year, and a whole lot of inconsistency in between. if he was more clutch from 2012-2014 he might already have been around Roger's total. so the short answer is, he's probably surpassed Rafa's peak and it's too early yet to compare to Roger's. ask again in a year or two and we'll have a better idea.
I know it looks like Nole could keep going this way forever, but he turns 29 this year and I don't care what anyone says, history has never favored any athlete as they approach 30. at the end of 2013, I was totally convinced Rafa was on his way to catching up to Roger, and then his body and game fell apart almost overnight. we all marvel at Agassi and Fed's thirty-something form, but the most either of them could do is maintain a high ranking.
so if Nole can stay healthy, motivated and lucky, maybe but it only takes a little bit of one of those to slide and then he suddenly loses that iron grip. then again, I read that the gap between Laver and his peers was far greater than anything we've seen in recent history, so maybe we're not the ones to make the judgement unless someone on here was around during the 60's to provide input...
It's silly to suggest that you can judge a player's level of play based on the number of tournaments they've won. Presumably, if you've watched tennis since the 90's, you have a pretty good basis on which to judge.

so Milos is now ranked #11th 2610 points Hope he can hold on to at least 12th which is an important position over the coming months. He's got a semifinal to defend in Rotterdam next week and then he's got a semifinal to defend at Indian Wells in March.

the day after AO? what the hell did he do? kick a locker in frustration? tweak it chasing around the double twins? slip and fall in a therapy room with the lights off (sorry Genie too soon)? strain himself while trying to eat a stack of his wife's pancakes (sorry Dustin too soon)?

He's got some free points coming up in early summer though. Including the French, which he missed last year.
yeah, he needs to be 12th going into the French Open.
Still haven't heard about Raonic playing Rotterdam or not.
I saw an instagram posting from Milos that he was in New York yesterday just chilling and seemed to be in good spirits. I'm hoping that means he's getting ready to fly out of New York to the Netherlands in short order.
It's likely he will fly out at some point next weekend as he is taking part in the NBA all star celebrity game on Friday in Toronto, he may very well stay the whole weekend as he is a pretty big basketball fan
Vasek is clearly finding success at the doubles level. Curious if he would ever be interested in going the route of Daniel Nestor and solely focusing on doubles play.
