Raymond waived per Friedman and McKenzie. Also Prust.

Maybe. Could easily still be a top 4 guy here, depending on injuries and development of the kids. Would still get PP points. The reaction on the suspension would be really interesting. I would guess that he would be more welcome here than anywhere else.

Where did the media say he doesn't have a NMC?

Well Eklund is giving Wideman to Boston an E3. For those who don't follow him, it means Wideman will likely sign an extension with the Flames as soon as possible.
I had my hopes up for bit there....

I'm calling out Kevin Dupont, The Hockey Press (rumors to Pittsburgh last November), and anyone else who openly discusses trading Wideman. CP Posters also have a bad habit of discussing Wideman trades, and it's tiresome to see anything like this, with any player, when they have control over where they go.
And for the record, I doubt Wideman waives it to go to Boston.

So you're upset that people don't include "he has a NTC and can control where he's going so he'd have to approve any deal" in any trade proposals?
You doubt he'd go there but for all you know, he might love Boston and want to get out of Calgary.

NMCs are overrated. It handcuffs the team in terms of return sometimes but it rarely has an impact on whether a player is actually traded or not.

Why are you calling out a guy from last November?
Why wouldn't he go to Pittsburgh or Boston?
Boston, he was 6 years ago. There are only 6 players there when he was last there. New management, but same coach. The team is doing decent and imo is better then the Flames right now. Closer to the playoffs.
It's not like they're suggesting sending him to Columbus or some other basement dweller.

We've moved players with NMC before and we will again. Doesn't really matter whether you will think he'll waive or not. He can be traded, its a worthy discussion. It makes sense for us to move him even. The NMC makes a potential trade tricky but not impossible. I don't find the topic tiresome at all nor do I think we're showing bad habits.
We're calling you out in response.

Wideman will have final say if/when he gets traded, which IMO, will not be likely.

Just because he has final say doesn't mean that he can't be moved, also doesn't mean that his name hasn't come up in discussions or that fans can't discuss moving him. Trades with players that have NMC are still possible.
Guy is pretty much playing on the 3rd pairing here, has been in the current coaches doghouse, and it's pretty much guaranteed he's not getting re-signed here. Maybe he would be happy to move on.
Not too sure why it would be out of the question that he would want to move to Boston either.
A team that he spent 4 season with previously, would be familiar with the organization, and likely still has some friends on the team.

You assuming he won't waive is no different than a media person naming a possible destination.
Only difference I guess is one of you gets paid to be "in the know."

So, you're saying it's possible?
I think that's all anyone is saying. Nobody is saying it's a done deal.

So because of your opinion, we shouldn't talk about it? I think if you disagree, you could either just ignore it or say something along the lines of "I don't think he'll end up being traded" It just seems like you're telling everyone that they're wrong about it because you think it won't happen. It might happen, it might not. You're making it sound like there is 0% chance of it even being possible.
I doubt it happens but it would be great if it did and it realistically could.

I'm telling people that there is another level of complication that exists in order to move Wideman, one that he has control over - this isn't a "trade Mason Raymond to the first available taker" situation.
NMC - something GM's have to consider when making trade plans.

The media - or to be most specific in today's context, Kevin Dupont.

You're wrong! Mason Raymond has a modified NTC. Why would you say that. YOu're wrong! Raymond would control where he's going. You're wrong! Raymond wouldn't go anywhere at all and wants to stay in Calgary.
Kinda sounds like that.
Of course GM's have to consider everything when making trades...did you think they just made trades without any kind of information?

Yes!
1. Where do you gather the indication that he forgot about the NMC is?
