I think the ASG was a lot of fun to watch. I loved the John Scott story. I do like events like this because the players get to have some fun and joke around, you get to see a bit of personality out of the guys. Instead of the canned "oh our team played well... we gotta work harder" type interviews.
I think the ASG is for the players as much as young fans, it gives them a break in their season where they can just go out and have a bit of fun.

The new format is great, but I'm afraid that players might start trying to avoid the ASG if it gets too competitive which may increase the chance of injury and give them less rest throughout the season. Maybe it won't happen, but just a thought

I didn't like the camera coordination. They missed 90% of the breakaways!! Always switching to the bench while it's a 1 on 1.

Yeah, whoever was directing the cameras was making some atrociously bad decisions yesterday. They switched cameras at the worst possible times.
Otherwise, I thought that All Star game was the most entertaining it's been in at least a decade.

Couldn't agree more with the lousy camera directing. Only all-star game I've watched in years and CBC (or Rogers or whatever) almost ruined it with a combination of Glen Healy, missed breakaways/goals, and pointless banter with country music stars.

I agree about the camera work—I was near the point of losing my mind over it.
But I disagree about the pointless banter with country music stars. I loved that they had celebrity coaches on the bench; pointless banter and all.

Aside from Scott, I thought Johnny, Bergeron and the goalies were the standouts.
