Mainly because he's been lost in the defensive zone entirely throughout his tenure as a Flame prospect. His offensive skill was always decent.
I use him as an example of someone playing poorly because he was legitimately bad overall and he is one of the few drafted prospects in recent memory that flamed out. If he wasn't legitimately bad, the Flames would have signed him.
I haven't watched him during this season, but he is putting points on the board, which should be expected with his offensive abilities. No idea how he is playing in his own zone.
