Yeah. One does not cross that kind of line and just continue off as if nothing occured. It was weird, but the lack of reaction to what he did until well after the fact says to me he was just spaced out or looking down or something.
If we always saw what was in our path then people would never walk into poles...buut it still happens.

The important thing is that your immediate reaction was to be outraged as quickly as possible and to be vehemently argumentative before you had the necessary context.

I still stand by my initial prediction that Wides will be suspended for 20+ games.

Wideman: "I went up to Donnie and I apologized to him on the ice. I didn't see him, I didn't know where to go or how to get out of the way."
Uh-oh, Wideman got the PR department rolling. What a total 1%'er eh? Commits this heinous crime and escapes without punishment because he said he was sorry and didn't mean to. Where's the justice! Why isn't he off this team yet! #greentext.

It looked like he wasn't paying attention after getting his head slammed into the boards and was woozy. It didn't look like he saw him until it was too late.
I'd guess he'll get a suspension but we'll see.

I think Wideman's comments and his pretty clean disciplinary record will see him avoid punishment. Only he knows if he was in his right mind and if he hit Henderson intentionally, but from what I've seen, I don't for one second believe he did that deliberately. Wideman doesn't do red mist or make stupid judgement calls like this. Hell, even the dirt bags of the league like Marchand and Dorsett don't touch the refs, so I have a hard time believing Wideman did.
Be very interesting to see what comes off this.

I think you are underestimating how many of us would not at all mind Wideman sitting out a few games.

Why? Don't feel that'll be necessary.

The minimum suspension for intentionally hitting a ref is 20 games, and I think it was at least somewhat intentional.

I don't think he gets suspended unless the linesman makes a big deal about it and since Wideman wasn't kicked out of the game I doubt that would be the case.
I wonder what the over/under on TheScorpion being suspended from CP. 30 days?

Why, because I disagree with you?
I've made my points, and I've provided evidence. I'm not a moderator, but you're violating Rule 3: you're personally attacking me. You have every right to disagree, but calling me concussed or asinine or a complete idiot is completely against the forum rules.

Or if he snapped and was looking to hit someone he wouldn't be sitting on the bench with literally no expression on his face.
|
That's the kicker. If it was an accident, most people would stop, be in shock, apologise to linesman, etc. That being said, I have a hard time believing he would do that on purpose. Its just his reaction, or lack off, that makes him look guilty.
