Default Favorite scenes from Vintage movies

Thought I'd throw this topic up here for anyone that's interested. I'm a fan of older movies, especially from the 50's and 60's, when men were men, woman in the movies rarely left the kitchen except to serve lemonade and to either awkawardly make out with a man, or be a complete harpy, children were banished to their rooms for asking stupid questions.

For the most part, the male roles were either the Steely glazed hero, the utter buffoon, or the anti-establishment down on his luck rebel.

But I digress, I thought it would be fun to post favorite scenes from movies that people might have never seen.

I'll start with the banquet scene from the Caine Mutiney where the defense lawyer has just gotten the men of the Caine off of a mutiny charge leveled by their Commanding OFficer, they're celebrating when the lawyer enters the room.

On the Beach, which was a great cold war classic about the end of the world with the only survivors left on Australia, which is doomed.

Of course the Canadians Arrive in the Devils Brigade

I can't find a video but the scene where this screencap takes place is one of my all time favorites from the Ten Commandments.

The end of White Christmas when they sing The Old Man for the retired general, after surprising him with the men he served with & their families at his resort. Gets me every single time. Also, Bing Crosby.

I've been waiting two years to be able to use that particular 'thanks', afc.

Great idea for a thread, as there are thousands of fantastic movies that have gone unwatched simply because no one remembers their existence. This is a good place to let people know about some tremendous works of art. In the spirit of the OP I'll post this :

James Cagney was a monster of an actor, but his movies arn't as well known anymore. They used to play either a Presley, Bogart or Cagney movie on Sunday on one of the basic cable channels when I was a kid. Even then it was well after they had all passed away. The rainstorm scene in Angels with Dirty Faces is one of the best realized scenes ever, and I'm continuously happy every year that goes by that some hack doesn't revisit that scene in a new movie.

Not sure if this is the right scene (can't use speakers right this second), but it's from one of my favourite movies.

With the Oscars coming up, look at the performance by Maria Falconetti, and whether any of the actors nominated today come even close.

The set up is that this is after the battles to free France, when Joan is awaiting the predetermined verdict of a sham trial, as she is being tortured to confess her sins. (This story is so well known, I feel that these arn't spoilers) This entire movie is incredibly intense, and silent but for a brilliant soundtrack.

Finally a favourite Spencer Tracy movie of mine. He defends a teacher on trial for teaching evolution in the classroom. His famous speech to the court.
